Absolutely! It's been done several times with several materials (SS/Ti), and if the RIL is different enough from the walker, then I'd say it's fair game.

Sal had mentioned the button lock on BF back in December 2013.

Button lock isn't a bad idea.. Especially if it is machined out for an optional coil spring that can be bought separately :D

Remember; *never* disassemble your Boker-matic and reverse the spring! (the instructions I got with mine actually said that! lol)

I recently saw a button lock/compression lock hybrid. The knife escapes me at the moment, but I thought it was a pretty smart design. It would be amazing on the sage.

I believe that's the Smock Knives SK23 with a licensed compression lock and button / flipper opening mechanism. Clever albeit pricey at $650!
