Hmmm....good question.
I'd really have to go with my Nilakka.
Spyderco makes some very smooth knives.
The Vallotton is very smooth among others.

The Nilakka for some reason is the smoothest, not really sure why, but it's silky smooth

It would be a toss up between the PM2 and the Manix 2 lightweight. Both open and close very smoothly. Of my lockbacks, the Native 5 is smoothest.

That's a touch call. All of my framelocks are pretty smooth, but it would have to be a tie between the Nirvana and the Mantra. I can't feel much difference between them. Of the knives I've handled, the Sage 2 and 5, and the PM2, are probably comparable.

Southard & Domino are both insane smooth.........but I really don't have a Spydie that isn't really smooth.
PM2s, I have 5, are all free droppers, 3 Millies are very smooth. Manix 2s, have 5 or 6, all free droppers.
The ONLY Spydie I have that isn't very smooth is a LW Native.

Just want to point out that anyone whose answer didn't include a Sage 3...doesn't own a Sage 3.

I too have found my Sage 3 to be the smoothest.

It's actually on me today as I'm out & about. I've really enjoyed the Sage series overall and the individual knives.

Nailed it!
The Sage 3, Paramilitary and Domino are my smoothest, easily!

New PM2 in S110V and Military S110V both initially lubed with Nano-Oil 5 wt then every 2 weeks add a drop or two of 10wt.

Very close but not carried is a PM2 M4 Jade.

In addition a 13-15 year old C52PBK Calypso Jr Lightweight, FRN with plain edge.

Regards,
FK

Good call Tdog, my D2 Para1 is insanely smooth. I never carry it so it always slips my mind.

Sabre grind Manix 2

Sage 3, the *lock* on this one is the smoothest for sure, though the Manix has even better action... to me the bolt lock feels like one of those electric assist trunk lids, or the soft close drawer glides, it doesn't so much snap in to lockup as *ease* in.

dead heat between GB1 and Nilakka, for best liner lock.
