Looks like a step on the blade where the framelock engages instead of an arc shape.
interested to see more detailed pics of this....
I'll see what I can do the next time I'm in there, and if they're still in stock.

It doesn't feel heavy for the size. The blade seems to just be stonewashed, and it matches the handles beautifully.

First of all thanks for the report! Very nice accomplishment by Spyderco, for a hefty yet classy 4mm bladed folder.

Is the blade in fact stone washed? It was mentioned in the Amsterdam video, the blade is bead blasted to match the (bead blasted) handle, and it *looks* as such in some pics.
The product guide says "...and stonewashed to match the handle.", and it says the handle "...is then matte finished..."

^ Thanks. That was probably a prototype Eric was talking about in the vid.

Both the blade and handle look to be stonewashed in the video by GPknives.

Doesn't look as if there's any sort of stepping.

Well guys, due to some fortuitous circumstances, I got lucky today. It's just spectacular. Yes, it had some lock stick, and with 3 cotton swabs, one with a touch of alcohol, it was almost all gone in about 45 seconds. Then a little pencil, and it's perfectly smooth. No muss, no fuss.
I bought this knife at Mark's Outdoors in Vestavia Hills, AL, where I saw the example pictured above(which may actually be the same one; I'm not sure). If you're anywhere near Birmingham, AL and you want a knife, these guys have it or can get it and they're knife knuts as well. Don't hesitate to call them either, they can probably help you out. They held this thing for me so I could be sure if/how I was going to get it. And as a Spyderco collector, I felt like I couldn't let it get away. Plus it's just so, so good.

Congrats Ferris! Welcome to the Nirvana club! I love mine too! The lock stick is pretty much a non-issue once you know how to deal with it.

That is definitely a beautiful knife but I dont have the means to pick one up. Hopefully they make a poor mans version, I would be all over it.
Love the design and blade.
