Wow this sound like fun. I'll give it a go but looking back at the great photos from last year it's going to be a challenge. Looking forward to it. ☺

Fantastic 4th post.

Seems to me if you read this thread through that they are starting earlier for that exact reason.

I'm always late and never knew how to get a photo on here before. It's finally time to try. I've had multiple dreams about winning the calendar contest, and I absolutely love the Mantra so I am super excited for this year's contest!! so hopefully I can make the dream come true this year! :D

My entry is of my DLC Manix 2. Despite how clean it looks, it's actually been quite abused. It's been my most used and durable companion, that I actually got from another forum member. It's been all over the place with me. It's been used to cut fall apples, abused in winter snow, drenched in summer sweat and used to prune spring flowers. Not once has it failed on me for any reason. It is my absolute favorite Spyderco knife. The Manix sits on a fence behind our house. It was used much in the construction of it and now it sits proudly on it, for a well deserved rest after a job well done.

*EDIT* I unfortunately just noticed that you have to be 18 to enter. I forfeit my entry, but will leave it up anyway for anyone who likes it to enjoy. Maybe next year.

When the bluebells come out in the woods in April you always know that the summer and the good weather are just around the corner. Great to spend the day out there with the S110V PM2 :D

Hopefully this works, here is my entry.

Spyderco is one of those companies where they truly make more then just knives, they make a conversation piece. This is the gateway to what a great family this develops and the politefulness this forum really is. Thank you Spyderco!

My PM2 up at the Big Four Ice Caves in my home of Washington state.

Every week I hike up to my favorite camp spot. On this particular day I hiked up with some of my Spyderco knives so that I could take pictures of them. On arrival I found that my favorite spot had been destroyed by a forest fire, the blaze was controlled, but my spot was ruined. The dirt was dark with charcoal and all of the trees in the near vicinity (that were still standing) were severely charred. This is a photo of my GITD Manix 2 XL sitting on of one of the the downed trees, you can observe the burn marks surrounding the knife. The black charcoal contrasts with the while scales and makes this photo quite unique and a good metaphor for the boundary between order and chaos.

Here is my first entry!

It features a Spyderco Lil' Matriarch Plain Edge, which is an exclusive version of the model to a retailer called Bento Box Shop.
Despite it being categorized as a Self Defense blade, the Lil' Matriarch is a truly phenomenal EDC champ that utilizes the beloved Delica 4 handle, and a reverse-S blade, which can easily perform many types of cutting tasks. The photo also includes a vibrant ceramic sugar skull that my wife had recieved as a gift from her coworker friend who is from Mexico. I paired them up and edited the photo on my smartphone, and I find it unique and fun to look at!

Quite some entries already and by the looks of it, it'll be another year of picture perfect Spydies! :D
I've got my mind set on a model; the Captain.
Hope it will turn out the way I envision it :)

Always wanted to enter but was never statisfied with my pics.
This time I have one I really like... hope you guys find it worthy.

Taken in France during a hike in a national parc called "Le Perche" (near the town of Dorceau) while we were on a camping trip in the first days of May this year. We had a stop for lunch, baguettes and some hot tea (water boiling on the woodstove in the background).

The knife in the picture is the Bushcraft UK with the spalted maple handles.
I picked this picture because for me this picture shows type of atmosphere this knife was designed to be in.

I've enjoyed all the beautifull pics in the previous editions, so I know there will be some nice ones this year (there already are in the above posts).
Goodluck everyone!

Edit: around the time the competition ends it's possible that I'll be on summer vacation... so please be patient if I respond slow to communication :) (added this info just in case... ;) ...)

Edit 2: here's a direct link to my picture high resolution: -> LINK <-

Wow, great pics so far! Defiantly going to be a tough one this year for the spydie crew. I had one idea that I tried to pull off but failed miserably at it. I'm back to the drawing board!

Forum name - Kosta
Model - Spyderco Techno.
I love knives. I love Spyderco knives. I love Spyderco Techno. To carry very convenient knife every day in a pocket. It is my favourite knife. He is always with me. He small and very convenient. I like to use him and to photograph him. He is darling. I have made this photo for a calendar of 2017. I want to try to make a photo even better. If you do not take pictures, it is beautiful. If you draw the knife, it is ideal.

My native 5 lightweight CPM S35VN best EDC to carry. Having a day in the sun where it works the hardest. LOVE THE NATIVE 5. I would love the 40th edition just so expensive. I've had the native 2 plain and full serrated and lost both in a house move then when my wife got me the native 5 lightweight i was the happiest man alive.

c95 Manix 2 Xl Glow in the Dark.
This is the new member of my at this point growing family of 14 manixes.
I got this one on the 14th of may from my lovely girlfriend for our 1th year anniversery of our relationship.
I opend it up at the exact spot in the ardennes (Belgium) where we found each other's hearts last year.
In other words even if i do not win a price in this amazing competition i will always be the lucky winner with a girl like mine. :)
(She even made me a lanyard for it and if you look closely you can see a heart in the closest small bead :o :D )

Hey guys,
These are my two newest Spydercos, the Temperance 2, and the Mantra 2, both of which were bought for me by my lovely wife.
We just celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary on May 20th, 2016.
I am blessed to have a wife that supports my Spyderco addiction, plus the fact that she's proud of my Japanese heritage.

Thanks to Spyderco for this awesome contest, and the great knives that they produce.
Later,
Don

Well, this might come off as a strange first post... A very short introduction: I've been collecting Spydies for about 8 years now, and visiting this forum intermittently since, but I guess I never felt like I had much to contribute (until now!)

I went for a fairly simple shot. I run a coffeeshop for a living, and its something that's been consuming my life about as much as my knife obsession. Sal has been a true role model to me, and he's had a vast influence on how I run this business, treat my employees, interact with customers, and deal with the competition. Spyderco is also the company that's introduced me to the concept of CQI, and it's something I've been striving to apply to my work ever since.

As for the knife, I chose the S110V PM2. I was very fortunate to grab this piece on my last visit to the USA, and it's become one of my rare material possessions which can bring me genuine, child-like happiness from the mere act of handling it. My first PM2, my first Golden piece, and quite probably my most prized folder.

Oh, and hello to all! Hopefully I can get more involved with this community in the future :D

I was in B-52 upgrade from Co-pilot to Aircraft Commander on 9/11 and graduated shortly thereafter to a combat deployment. I was proud to be flying the B-52 then and will always remember why. Most of these patches are from my B-52 days and before, and I tried to sterilize most of the unit numbers, etc. Of course this is the D'Allara Rescue C82 WTC and I felt it was a fitting knife to include in the pic.

(kosta, I apologize. I didn't see your collage pic until after I took mine. I almost didn't submit. If you feel I stole your motif, I'll remove my submission)
