I picked up a CF Dodo, Yojimbo 2, Native 4 and Kahr arms delica. Got all 4 for $200. I got there a little before 7, was in shopping before 9. Had a blast and will definitely be back next year with a little more to spend. There were tons of pm2's, military's, manix's, and natives. Was surprised to find the cf dodo being later in line like I was.

Just got home...brutal 2 days, 1 hr of sleep, what a blast, can't wait for the next one...got everything I wanted...and then some...well....except for fluted Millie...they were there but I missed them...my favs are the s110v pm2's and the lil lion spy, which golden spydie so graciously swapped me for a blurple Pm2...and the GITD EDC Manix 2xl....not a second, and on sale for 130......now it's time to hit the hay, and finally end this hectic day...was a good time meeting fellow forumites, and Sal and the crew, great job, your the best......

Oh yeah, forgot about the jumpmaster and T2....love them a lot also.

Hey PeteG nice haul! Can I ask what stone the long skinny white one is second to left in the last picture? Not familiar with that one...

EDC Honeybee wrote:It was a blast. Just got home with mine. I ended up getting most of what I wanted. The one notable part to me were there were no dragonflys or ladybugs to be had as far as I could see. Only saw two dragonflys, both zdp. one serrated, one without the tip. I grabbed the one without the tip.

I ended up getting:
-A CF caly 3
-A grey superblue caly 3
-A zdp Dragonfly with broken tip
-A CF Chaparral with broken tip
-An ATS 55 delica with broken tip
-A CF sage with broken tip
-3 dual-sided pocket stones
-1 UF bench stone

I opted for as many broken tip knives as I could find since they were so cheap and I have a bit of metalworking experience to redo the spine profile (Carbon fiber s30v sage for $5? yes please). I the ones I really wanted were the Caly 3, and am glad I got them. Had to pass over the forum native, a kiwi, and a bunch of other great knives to stay in budget. I cant find what is wrong with the caly 3s. The ones with chipped tips are pretty obvious.

I showed up at about 6:45, got to wait the whole time inside. Ended up winning a couple trivia items (flash drives), and generally had a blast. A lot of very nice people. I can't remember his name, but one guy I met was looking for some of the collectibles. I would point them out for him, and he ended up finding me the only CF caly 3 I saw all day. There were tons of 3.5s though. Overall lots of fun.

Can't wait to see what you will done and what the knives will look like when it will be finish ! :)
I hope you will show them ! with a little before/after. :D

I wish Spyderco would be not that far ! ^^

The loot:

Fluted Titanium Native 5s

Image

Slysz Bowie (a great deal at $60)

Image

Pie In The Sky

Image

Firefly (I think it was the only one there)

Image

Hap 40 Endura 4 in burnt orange (thrilled to get this one)

Image

Para 2s in XHP/orange/dlc, S110V/blurple, S30V/camo/dlc, and composite (S90V/154) in carbon fiber
The non-S30V PM2s were really hard to get, and I was lucky to come away with the ones I wanted.

Image

Superleaf, Goddard sprint, and Lava sprint (interesting finds)

Image
Image

USN Ladybug HB, blue Persistence, black/dlc/ce Native 5, Forum Native 5 (backups and too-cheap-to-pass knives)

Image

Rocs (one to keep stock, one to mod)

Image

Kiwi 4, Caly 3.5 G10/VG10, Junior

Image

ZDP-189 Endura 4 (I needed something in BRG)

Nice coverage shots, GS, thanks for posting those up! Looks like an experience I need to put on my bucket list.

Your single day haul there looks nearly as big as my whole entire collection amassed over decades, lol

Are those all factory seconds, or were some just regular sale models? Can't see the spine notch on some of the photos, like the Lava...

Here is the before and after. You can see all of the tips broken in this picture:

Here they all are after I redid the tips/spines. You guys will be able to tell right away, but the real test for me was when I showed them to my family. No one noticed the regrind until I mentioned it, and two people actually said the chaparral was their favorite before I told them what I had done. Honestly out of the bunch the caly3s are my favorite, but the chaparral would be my favorite for EDC because of the size. The sage was $5, the delica and chaparral were $10, and the zdp dragonfly was $20. For $45 I feel like this is a lot of knife

Oh man, that Slysz bowie was a screaming deal. That's the one at the top of my wish list right now, but it's going to be a while before I can pony up for it.

I'm hoping to be able to make the sale next year. This year there was just too much going on.

I don't know. It's a very nice stone thick in the middle and tapers down on both sides. Picked up two.

Here are the pictures of the front and back of each one of the reprofiled knives. To spare the thread another set of pictures on the same knives Im just linking the album on imgur. Happy to take others if you would like. The main way to screw up reprofiling these is to let the blade heat up and ruin the heat treat. Also I made a big goof and marked one side of the sage blade. Im sure you can see it in the album. I might polish it out and give the whole blade a mirror-polish but I dont have the time for it just yet.

After two trips through the store last year and a large hall, this time I was in and out with only one new addition.
