Needless to say I am pretty excited about the Sprig. I don't know the release date but I got mine not too long ago so hoping they will be out for the Shot Show. I think you all will like the edge geometry and combined with S90V they will serve a large variety of tasks including kitchen work. Sprig is a nickname for a Pintail duck and seems like that is an appropriate name for a Bird and Trout design. Thanks to all for your support on the South Fork and the upcoming Sprig. Phil

I have to say that your knives are the best tools I've ever owned.

The Southfork made me want to buy the customs, but the custom bird and trout I bought from another member on this forum has me lusting after the Sprig. The only tool that is in my hand more times each day than my Bird and Trout is my key ring. I'll probably buy several sprigs and gift them.

I can't wait to snag a Sprig.

So now that these are getting close to being released (I hope) is this a good time to ask if we are gonna see a fillet knife. Maybe the FB06 or FB07? Maybe S90V? Maybe 154CM or S30V? Where we at with this? :D

Nice to see that you follow these threads.

I am waiting on a Sprig as well, and waiting, and waiting...

But in the meantime, that Sprig order has made me look into your other knives and I have a Hankerin' for your Southfork and one of you Fillet knives. Pricey, but they look like lifetime items that would earn a place in my will.

I actually ordered the Sprig because I thought it would make a **** of a steak knife! That could of course be called upon to do other duties as well!

Thanks Tom for the kind words. Glad your knives a getting good use. I don't have any news on a fillet knife other than Spyderco does have some prototypes. Sal or Eric are the best ones to answer that and I know Sal has chimed in on it before. As far as blade steel CPM S90V would work, I have used that in the past but feel that given so many other good candidates out there it is probably overkill for that application. CPM 154 and CPM S30V are some to consider as well. Phil
