About $8 where i live. I can't be bothered. I cut my own with a pair of scissors. Pretty simple stuff if you aren't too vain.

You should be using one of your Spydercos. Just reach up, gather a bunch of hair in your fist, and cut. (Kinda like a duck rescue :D ). Just kidding.
I do not have enough hair to grow it long enough to do that anymore. My wife sometimes cuts mine. Easy to do. But I still enjoy the barber and it is cheap, here.

Yep. Me too. I sit on the floor legs crossed and shave it off. If I could I'd razor it but that doesn't work out well even with safety razors. Part of it is after wrecking and rebuilding my shoulders a few times I can't even reach spots. Past about a 32nd of an inch the hair is a PITA and just gets in the way.

Maybe we should all invest in Nair and be done with it.

Yea I'm starting to wonder how much people's barbers are charging, or how little some of these members make, if their barber is charging 2x their hourly wage. :eek:

My first cousin who is older than I am is an old school Barber in the south part of the State of Mississippi. And believe me he uses straight razors, hot lather, hot towels and all the other amenities that the old school Barbers of yesteryear offered. It does seem like there are more of them south of the "Mason-Dixon" line than there are in the northern United States.

I've also been told by a friend of our family who goes to Europe quite often and he says there are Barbers in Germany, France, Belgium and a few other places that have old fashioned Barbers.

If any of you want to learn to use a straight razor proficiently and shave yourself with one there are some great guys over at http://www.straightrazorplace.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; who have a forum similar to the one we have here at Spyderville. I go there from time to time and they are very eager to share information about the use, maintenace and resources for straight razors and accessories. I personally own two top quality straight razors and they are not hard to learn to use. They are a bit tricky to learn to sharpen but they share a lot of good information on sharpening straight razors and where to get stuff you need like strops, shaving soap/lather.

Thanks JD, I will check out that site. I know barbers have to practice shaving on inflated balloons with shave foam on them. One pop and you have to clean up the mess and start over until you get it right.
