I thought about trying a blade swap to put it on an Endura handle cause I love the blade of the stretch. But as I said earlier, anyone with smaller hand should love the ergos.

Re: Caly 3.5 or PM2?
My hand isn't that big, but not small either. My palm is about 4.25" wide. It makes the last wave on the stretch handle that should be used to rest my little finger against to avoid slippage to sit directly in the middle of my little finger when I grip it. To avoid this unconfortable hotspot, I usually use it on a 3 finger grip, but then my hand is slightly too small so my finger doesn't rest on the guard... I guess it's just me and a combination of bad luck

If it's not polished, call it a saw, not an edge!

You can't beat the Caly 3.5
Re: Caly 3.5 or PM2?
I have a lot of respect to Para2, but I love Caly3.5. I carry and use G10/VG10 variant since they came out. I carried for more than 4 years Caly3 before that. I do not know, what Caly3.5 cannot handle. The only complain I have- it killed my jeans, but Native5 did the same. Para2 would do this too, unless you smooth or replace scales.
There is one huge thing about Caly3.5. You carry 3.5" blade and even do not feel it. I love the think edge as well.

I own both. For my needs, the Caly 3.5 by a mile.
I also own both the G10 version and the carbon fiber version of the Caly 3.5 and like the carbon fiber version best. YMMV

I had to downsize my collection a bit and I still own a full-sized Caly, a Caly 3 Damascus, and a Caly 3.5 Super Blue. I don't own a PM2 anymore. I also have a Caly Jr., for what it's worth. The Caly 3.5 gets the most work among all of them.
I really like both series. It's not a question of like or dislike - more of a question of which I like more. It was a hard day when I sold my Para 2 M390.
The Caly series carries small/slim, and fits my hand well in all versions. For me the Caly series is the most versatile of any Spyderco has made.
If it comes as any consolation you are splitting hairs in your options. Both are aces and will suit your needs. And if you are like the rest of us, you will at some point own both. Have fun. - Mike

Re: Caly 3.5 or PM2?
I am currently price shopping for a caly 3.5, I think for my current skill with sharpening vg-10 will be the best option for a working knife. Sometimes I get frustrated with s30v
. I will get a pm2 eventually because I love the compression lock, this just give me time to wait for the next cool sprint/ exclusive to come out. Oh and buy a n5 lightweight that I somehow forgot about completely.

I was going to suggest this, but decided it was off topic. For a daily beater, I can't think of a better knife for someone with small to medium hands.spyder_happy wrote:Oh and buy a n5 lightweight that I somehow forgot about completely.
I carry a serrated Robin2 at work, a Cara Cara Rescue 2 in the glove box, and a ZDP Dragonfly or Junior everywhere else. My PM2 sits on a shelf with a small assortment of Kershaws.
Waiting patiently for the Native 5 lightweight and the Lil' Temperance 2.

EDC = Caly 3.5
Such a fantastic pic Marcus! :)
Both are superb designs. No matter which one you choose, you just can't go wrong. :spyder:
From my personal experience (considering shape, size, thickness and weight) from a strictly EDC point of view I'd pick Caly 3.5 anytime over the Para2.

The same here. I had to sell many of my knives. All my paras are gone, except dark green 204P, but Caly3.5 are staying and get carried, plus I bought 3 more: back-up for myself and two as gifts to two of my friends. Both of them loving their Calys and carrying daily. It is phenomenal design.mikerestivo wrote:I had to downsize my collection a bit and I still own a full-sized Caly, a Caly 3 Damascus, and a Caly 3.5 Super Blue. I don't own a PM2 anymore. Re: Caly 3.5 or PM2?
I have a PM2. Nice knife and part of my rotation. I had a Caly 3.5 for a very short time but sent it back. Unfortunately I wasn't able to one-hand-close the Caly 3.5. Maybe there's a way but I think it would involve practice and vigilance. I like to open and close the folder I use freely with one hand. I'm so used to doing it and so the Caly 3.5 wasn't right for me. Another plus for the PM2 is that I prefer the open-back design for easy cleaning.
