I don't know, do we want it to be special like the Captain and have it die off quick, or do we want it to be simple and last a little longer?

Amsterdam is coming up soon, so we might see a more recent version of it.
How quick did the captain stop being produced?

I already bought some purple G10 for this knife...funky scales on a funky knife, right? But I still don't have a Roc to make the scales for. :( Maybe soon?

As far as I can remember the Captain was in production for a year or two, but there was hardly any discussion of it while it was in production.

The Captain showed up in the 2006 mid-year catalog and apparently came out that same year. So it was around all of 2007, 2008, and then discontinued at the end of 2009, so it looks like it had a good 3 years of production.

There are/were definitely some Captain enthusiasts and it certainly got a fair shake before getting dropped.

I assume the Roc will do better on sales. Serge has a bit more flair.

Soooo, any idea when these might be getting to market...?

No but I'm sure you will see them first on eBay and a forum post shortly thereafter.

Ha with the heading Rare Spyderco Roc! Which I guess, at the moment it's posted, is actually somewhat true...

Would love to see a side by side comparison of one with a Breeden Rescue. It's one of my all time favorites, so I'm quite interested in the Roc.
Is it still called the "Roc Cleaver", or just "Roc"? I've seen it referred to as both...
Going back to Caly.
