No way I'd ever pay anywhere near MSRP for something that has rust on it, however I love users, 99% of my knives are users. I'd do exactly what David suggests.

Yup it would have been nice. Just too steep for me. Thanks.

Depends on what you intend on doing with it. Utility knife? Buy it. Collectable knife? Eh... probably not. Haggle it though.

See my earlier post. They wouldn't budge. Wanted $245.

Just get the standard caly in g10, or if you want a better looker get the caly in cf with zdp-189 laminate! I have bought knives off ebay that were shipped from canada and have had no problems, except for the shipping costs and delivery times! Get the caly carbon fiber zdp-189!

Zombie thread come alive! So I couldn't get the Caly out of my mind even after I had a very fortunate Christmas (Millie Cruwear, Karahawk) so I went back to the store and found that they had 3 in their system spread across 3 separate stores. I went to a different store that had the Caly 3 SB, bit the bullet and paid full price. Thanks again for all the great encouragement and opinions shared here in this thread. I'm loving this blade. I've already carried it, reprofiled the edge and forced a patina. Cutting into that first apple and watching the patina form before my eyes was a sight to see.

Sometimes you have to take the plunge for what you want. I paid $220 for my 20CP Para 2 and I don't regret it. That was only about $40 over the street price if I remember right which isn't too terrible.

I love my Caly 3 SB and am contemplating buying a second before they really do become extinct. I will certainly have to pay a pretty penny, but in the end it will be worth it. Congrats on your new purchase. I may have one with teeth arriving today!
