Thank you, the author of this thread made if for me last year. I love how high it carries. My mules carry much more comfortably in the car and at my desk.

Looking good, Toomzz! That white ivory micarta can be kind of touchy to work with. It discolors at the drop of a hat, picks up sanding residue and polishing compound, and also burns easily on power tools. You have to treat it gingerly to pull off a nice set of scales. Well done!

Thanks for the compliments, yes that white stuff smudges easily working it. But in the final stages I use fine sandpaper and water (240-320-400-600-800-1000-1200-2000), so no burns and the water rinses away any harmful staining stuff.
For all your information, I have got the second K390 coming up, I am currently working on that. Lignum vitae.
I take it easy and take the time for this one, becaause the first time I used this wood I worked too fast and the shrunk after I corbied and glued it on the tang.

This time I cut the woodpieces already weeks ago, prepared them further last weekend, glued and corbied them on mondaynight and start working on it yesterday night. The handle is pretty much shaped by know, roughly, but I think I will give it a couple of days rest...stay tuned.....I really love that wood....

Put Halpern grips on both of mine.

First one came from the factory at 17.5 degrees per side, bevels even side to side and heel to tip! :)

I sharpened it to 15,000 grit then stropped to .25 micron. It will dry shave facial hair. :)

Second came with BEVELS uneven side to side, and splitting axe edge angle. 23 degrees on one side. :(

I re-bevelled it to 15 degrees per side and sharpened to 15,000 and stropped to .1 micron.

I cut 15 targets from thick, heavy cardboard and up some sisal rope. About 10 pieces. It will still shave facial hair. :D

I want the first Military of K390 off of the line! :p :spyder:

The lignum vitae K390 is ready as well. I sanded it up to 1000. Most of the shrunking of the wood is done but I will give it a rest for a couple of weeks. Then I will sand and polish the wood up 2000 grain. The stripes in the wood is the grain, not sandingmarks  Check the patina in the steel. That is from just peeling a couple apples and cutting some plums. :) Enjoy!

Nice work, Shark. I'm curious about how you cut those out. Did you use a router, Roto-zip tool, or some other means?
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.
