You got that right.

I used to read Radley Balko's blog in which he often featured cops kill family pet stories. These are anecdotal so I don't want to exaggerate the problem by relying on the impression they made. I just found an article that gives a pertinent statistic which supports the proposition that this is a wide-spread problem: on average the Milwaukee Police Dept. kills a dog every eight days. I think the article makes a good point.

That sounds really bad and seems to be a symptom of a problem that the popo have.

Here in the uk if a dog bites you have the stupid scenario of the burglar that's bitten suing the dog owner .
Maybe its the same , police dogs do a great job although they are very much here anyway fear biters .
So many times I've seen dogs bite the closest person to them sometimes police .
If a dog bites a criminal in the uk they cannot be prosecuted or so you think .
But if you read all legislation there is non separate ruling for police dogs , just the logic that the dogs were doing they're job .
And if one is killed it is given a police burial if I recall right and so it should.
Dogs don't choose the jobs we give them so why should they be punished because one does the job of biting a burglar in a private residence than chasing a crim for the police.
It shouldn't as far as I'm concerned its one rule for them and another for the guy on the street .
Where these things happen it should go before a judge where facts are given and logic prevails but its not happening .
I've not watched the video I refuse to because to all intents and purposes its a crime commuted by a guy wearing a badge that alone is the separation here not the judgement it makes me boil .

Forgive me for saying so, but I think that UK laws are biased in favor of the criminals, which means they suck. Sorry.

No need for apologies your spot on Chuck .
If you watch a police programme here on TV and see the way the police are restricted and the blatant way criminals are getting off with things , compared to a us version its obvious.
The one thing is but is also becoming increasingly less is a fair trial .
Although the human rights act employed within the Eu is and has been abused by those guilty so much its now a joke.
Those that should be using these laws to absolve themselves of miscarriages of justice are not afforded the same equality.
And people wonder why the country is going downhill rapidly with no signs of slowing .

You have my sympathies but pretty soon I guess that's where we'll be too. I wonder why people always think that they can legislate away the bad behavior of criminals and legislate away the rights of law abiding citizens to defend themselves.

These are the same people who think we haven't won the "war on poverty" yet, because we haven't spent enough money. Recently, they thought it was a good idea to change the lending laws so that "everyone could afford a house" but that didn't work. They continue to build a legislative social utopia, but they continue to for get about human nature being the problem in the first place..... Madness, I say, complete madness!
