No regrets here. I am thankful for what I have and enjoy them. In the past I have purchased many new hot items only later to regret them and sell them off at a loss. Also just because everyone likes something doesn't mean it is for you. I tried a PM2 and really didn't like it at all.

Of cause. But with most sprints you are safe. There were some sprint, which I bought and didn't like, so I sold them. If I made money, that is great, if I lost some, I consider the loss to be educational expense :) .
Evil D wrote:Pretty much why I'm stock piling cash and might just buy at least one of every sprint that cones out in a knife that I like.
This is exactly, what I am doing now. My "knife" funds hit zero a little while ago, so I decided to sell everything I can live without to be ready to buy any FFG Native, Spyderco will produce (not sure about slip-it though).

Anything except CF S110V? I remember Sal's comment, which he made long time ago about possibility of several sprints for Native5 LW, but this model is not here yet.

Did those comments lean towards FRN or FRCP?

Nope. Not me. I always do everything perfectly. Well, maybe a couple thousand times but no more than that. :)

FRCP. But it was may be couple years ago. Things can change. I will be happy to see smooth G10 Native5 sprints with various Carpenter steels.

I have yet to try the Native 5. The forum model (hopefully) will be my first, but I would like to see some Persianesque sprints with smooth G-10 and bolsters. The FRCP Manix 2 is a real homerun so I am sure I would like the weight of a Native 5 in this material. Do you notice the change in length from the FRN Native?

I didn't jump on the pre-order for the M4 Military, I didn't realize how special they were until I saw the "in the wild" pictures of them. I took advice of people on here and emailed Knifeworks to be put on the "in case someone backs out" list. I saw a WTT offer on CPFMP, I started communicating with the guy and was ready to trade $300 worth of custom flashlights... had some delays in communication, and got an email from knifeworks and was able to get it at the normal price. I was pretty lucky.

Native 5 is one of the stars of the current lineup. It doesn't get as much praise as it should except for from Roman. :p I think Gil saying it is like a smaller version of the original Manix is entirely accurate. It's a strong, comfortable, good looking knife in a very reasonable package.

I really like the Para2, but I like the action on the Superleaf's Compression Lock better. I think the Para2 is made for flickers, and I am not a flickererererer. I dropped one of my Paras once and the blade popped right out. Maybe if I tighten the pivot a little bit the blade will have better retention.

This is an interesting perspective to me - I just picked up a superleaf, and am slightly worried about its retention not feeling particularly solid. If the para 2 is looser than the superleaf yet, I might not regret missing out on the CF as much...

Oyyy, yes. I've only really been into knives and such for coming up on 2 years, and there's obviously a LOT of sprints/models that I've missed out on. It's pretty sad!

I tried flicking the Para open just by releasing the lock and whipping my wrist and the blade flew right open a few times (not every time, but the knife is still new, so it might every time after it is broken in.)

I have two Para2s and two Superleaves, and they are both consistent with each other.

I'm hoping that after the forum knife is released, that people will give it a chance.

Maybe you should try adjusting the pivot some.

When it was announced, I was beside myself with excitement, because my first Spyderco was a Native so we go way back. Somewhere along the lines I got really bored with back locks, which has kept me from buying one. It isn't that I don't like them, I just vastly prefer a compression lock these days. After carrying my Para 2 and Yojimbo 2 almost exclusively for so long, I instinctively reach for the compression lock. Still, I plan on getting 2 of the forum Native 5's and hopefully a Ti version to do a blade swap on.

I am in the same boat as Evil. After carrying the PM2 and Yo2, I am spoiled by
the compression lock. I subconsciously try to open other knives that way. The
back locks seem like pain to open now. I am probably goign to have to really
like other knife qualities to buy another one.

The forum knife will be an exception, but I never could pull the trigger on a regular
Native or Caly among others, because of that.

Try not to hold regrets, DRKBC. It's just not healthy for us in this hobby.

Many wonders have come and gone, but many more are yet to come. Spyderco delivers time and time again.
