Probably an Emerson CQC7 - I have to admit I am less likely to really lay the beating down on my Spyderco's not that they couldn't take it ... I just don't. The Emerson is a big thick chisel grind, I can pry things with it and if it gets scratched up I don't care. I just bought a Manix 2 maybe that will change things... but if I am honest with myself, I doubt it. Don't get me wrong I use all of them I just don't abuse all of them.

My Para 1 SE with the old-style jimping, although I don't exactly beat on it. But it gets the most use of any of my Spydercos--except maybe for my keychain Jester.

Waved VG-10 sabre-grind Delica. I wish there were more sabre-grinds, but I understand the increased efficiency of the FFG.

When I saw the white FRN, I started looking for the NASA logo - I thought you were using a $3000 knife for a beater!

There was another Spyder I had which I think could also qualify as a "BEATER">> I'm speaking of my lost G-10 Harpy :( It's either lost or stolen I don't know which but I have agonized over it more than any Spyder I've had in the missing persons file

The years I had my G-10 Harpy as a constant companion blade to the other Spyders I carried all that time I not only used it about every day I carried it but I used it hard and I mean very hard. Which is one of the main reasons I like the Harpy better than the TASMAN or Merlin models.

That G-10, ATS-55 Harpy had such ridgid construction it never failed me no matter how hard I used it. When I think about it I truly think that the full SE Native and the G-10 Harpy I carried and used took more abuse than probably any other 3 Spyders I had endured.

That G-10 Harpy just has to return to the main line up again. It amazes me that the G-10 Harpy hasn't returned by popular demand by tradesmen in the seafaring industries or any other vocation that needs that type of a folder.

I don't think I would be doing that with a $3000 knife and I don't think I would spend $3000 for that NASA logo Delica. I modded the Delica per a forumite suggestion see this thread.

It doesn't stay that way long!

Endura4 CE, Tasman Salt, and my Native Lightweight are what I consider my "beater" knives. Although my Manix gets a fair amount of use at work too.

I tend to use all my knives. Here is the Gayle Bradley in use:

The para 2. I do a lot of field work where easy one hand open and closing helps, and I beat the crap out of it when doing asbestos surveys. Poor knife has been stuck into and used to pry up all types of suspect materials.

Nice beater Chuck, I couldn't tell by the pic, but is that VG-10.
A set like that with M4 and a nice patina would be killer.
