Without putting thought into it, as Jack requested, my first instinct is to say my Super Blue Caly 3.5. It is scary sharp and stays that way. It requires obsessing over to keep it from oxidizing. And let’s face it, we all enjoy obsessing over our knives or we wouldn't be here on this forum. With only one knife to obsess over, forever, this would be a great choice for me. If I had to get rid of all others and could keep only one knife, this would be it.
However, as soon as I think about all the time I spend near the water, I start to second guess the practicality of my pick. I'm trusting in Jack's world he'd allow us to keep specialized knives for water endeavors, as he would for construction, fire fighting, the kitchen, and isle 6 of Wal-mart.
Jack, don't ask these kind of questions. You've made me sad thinking about all of the wonderful knives I've had to let move on.

Go with the Paramilitary 2. You will not regret your decision. The knife is perfect size for EDC, large enough for heavy use (See Blade HQ) and small enough to be sheep friendly. Trust me its built like a tank and you will never be able to go back, my favorite knife of all time.

While there are several Spydies that I like a lot. There are 2 that are head and shoulders...no, they are entire body lengths above every single other knife that Spyderco makes.
They are the Gayle Bradley and the M390 Military.
I would happy carry one of those every day with no other knife possible for the rest of my life.

Enjoy the sentiment Deacon :)The Deacon wrote:Ridiculous questions demand absurd answers.:D Plus, I was playing with my CT at the time. Definitely the ultimate second childhood version of a jack-in-the-box. :p
Today I would think the PPT, a terrific multifaceted model :D Tomorrow it might be the Bradley, Tuesday or Wednsday it might be the Cento

Well, its all depends on your lifestyle and what you do for a living, for someone who is a professional in an office environment, my choice would be the Sage 1 or Chaparral. If someone was more blue collar
in a industrial type environment, than the Para 2.
In my opinion, particularly in the liberal part of NJ, the Para2 is definitely not an office friendly knife. You pull out a Para 2 here, you may have the police called!

Junior with my black deep pocked clip. Great ergos, light and thin with enough blade for most tasks.
The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...
