Tangent: If you can't already, start practicing using chop sticks so you can use them well. You can eat very quickly with them once you've mastered it. You'll have utensils anywhere so long as tree branches/saplings are available and you have a knife.

I am very good at using chopsticks, but the wife and kids are not.

I bought the SpyderWrench the last year it was sold and love it. Except for not having needle nose pliers it is one Spyderco product I'm sorry to see go. The ByrdWrench was just as good probably. The adjustable wrench and screwdrivers being able to be seperated is a feature that is outstanding. Also, the ability to carry any 4 screwdriver tips you use most is also another BIG plus in the tool. The knife is the strongest I've seen on a multi-tool. I think it's one of the tools that just didn't catch on by purchases and then word of mouth. To be fair, the adjustable pliers are only 50% useful because on one side the jaws don't line up due to design restrictions. A necessity so it would fold properly. I also use needle nose pliers more than anything else on a multi-tool which the Spyderco tools don't have. One multi-tool is great. Two with different features is like carrying a small tool box with you. In this case the Spyderco is my second multi-tool only because of the lack of needle nose pliers (or the jaws you need most).

Anyway, even if they were the best tool on the planet I'm sure Spyderco had their reasons for discontinuing them. I anyone gets the chance to pick one up I recommend them. Not the most used tool but one I like having.

I sent a message to Spyderco asking about this very same thing as a product idea earlier today. I was thinking my forum members would love it. I even had a really cool name for it.
