The disaster that took place on Japan is unimaginable for us that have not experienced a similar disaster ourselves.

Even though I wasn't able to contribute to Japanese people's aid in a personal way, hearing their thanks and appreciation for the aid of many different countries and organizations does warm my heart.

If any people have the strength, skill, courage, and honor to come back from a disaster of this scale it is the Japanese people. Honor and resilence are the key components.

I say Arigato back to the Japanese people for the very positive ideas they bring to the world :)

No I'm not starting to cry...I just got something in my eye ;) as my wife would say, That was a tear jerker. Thanks for sharing Sal. Very traggic event. I cannot even imagine what they all wnet through. I have never been in a situation anything near that or even some of the tradgedies that happen on the US coasts.

I like was Evil has mentioned below...so very true. Others made some great statements as well.

I am glad to see the world pulled together to help with what they could. Glad to seem them making such progress on the reconstruction

Evil D wrote:Here's a bit of irony for ya...i was watching this video about 4 hours ago, and half way through it my electric went off. No idea why but it was off for about 4 hours. For a while i was a little ticked because i was working on some things on the computer, and the kids were watching tv, and then i wanted to make some lunch but had no stove. Then i got to thinking about this video again and how lucky i am that it's just my electric going out and not my house washing away. It's amazing how much we all take for granted every single day and how truly blessed we all are no matter how crappy we think our lives are.

Japan is an amazing country, at the heart every one of them is a strong person. I can't believe how much hope they all contain even when things are bad.

Thank you Japan, for the knives you make and the hope you give.

Thank you for sharing that video with us. Sadly, in the wake of tragedy we sometimes tend to generalize the event, referring to only the country where it occurred. It may just be a coping mechanism or just easier for us because of the unimaginable scale of the tragedy, I don't know? That video reminds us and allows us to remember the people. People separated by an ocean but held close in our thoughts and hearts. Japanese, American, Canadian, Chinese, French, Israeli, Korean, Australian, New Zealander, German, Humankind, Earthling.

thank you sal,
that video made me break down and cry.
my mother was from japan and came from a large family, her name was Kinoe Yamamoto.
i've never met any of my relatives from there and probably never will.
i'm sure this disaster impacted my distant family in many ways.
i remember as a child my mother talking of earthquakes and tsunamis, but i never really thought about it much.
the video brought back memories of our talks and made me think about how she must have been effected during her childhood there.
it was good to see everyone pulling together to help.
thanks again,

later,
don

Couple tears. Was proud to say my knife was made in Japan when my area was reacting to the quake and its aftermath.

Tremendously moving video, and great message of hope. The earthquake and its aftermath occurred in Japan, but it happened to all of us.
