What does the P refer to? Also where in NH, As i had lived there quite a bit?

Great thread, great info, I'll definately be ordering a sheath or two next week.

I make my own kydex, but having a sheath from Spyderco's source sounds interesting. Also, I hate making sheaths for thin bladed knives, it takes an extra bit of "art" that I haven't been able to get right yet.

I used leather with a non stainless knife once and if I didn't store the knife seperately it began rusting pretty quickly. Leather also traps oil, which traps dirt and dust and pushes it against your blade which can cause anything from light scratches to deep gouges if you get a big enough piece of silica in there (all it takes is one time not wiping your blade off perfectly).

I'd definately be concerned enough to store the knife seperately, considering that you can't just go out and buy another one of these (for less than twice what you paid at least).

Or just use kydex, you can store the knife in the sheath, it's thin enough to fit in the sheath in the original box for organizational purposes, and it allows moisture an easy path out of the sheath and away from your blade.

Hi Fernny, Itora (a bit late, sorry),

Welcome to our forum.

Christina is in Colorado. Sheathpro makes all of Spyderco's Boltaron sheaths. Nice work. Trustworthy.

P = Plain edge vs S for Spyderedge (serrated)
I am up by Franconia Notch. Beautiful area.

I thought all mules were plain edge.
Lived a lot in milton mills, Farmington as a kid.

Yes, all mules are Plain edge, but sometimes the P designation is still used with the SKU (e.g. MT17P) just for consistency of SKU + edge type.
