One thing I would suggest leaving off is extra things like screw drivers. The CRKT cutter is nice, but I had to make a leather holder for the kydex sheath it comes with to keep the end screw driver portion from poking me all the time. I have a Leatherman, if I need to turn a screw I'll use that.
The O2 wrench is fine, while I'm not one that would normally have a use for one, I have encountered them in my job and have used the ones on my hooks.

That is unfortunately the way i feel about the Assist. I think it would be perfect if they had the same handle on the 79/93(?)mm rescue models but the blade of an assist, with a fixed glass barker if possible. I like the added assurance that it's pretty much impossible to stab or inadvertently poke a patient, raft, or other object with it. None the less, i have gotten used to the Assist's bulk and find most of the features on it useful.

I've handled the CRKT rescue hook and found it extremely un-ergonomic. the oversized jimping was just ridiculous without thick gloves. Sometimes I have to ask myself what their designers were thinking, and for whom they were designing their products (my guess is a bionic baboon with metal hands). I think you also touch on another issue with many "rescue" tools. They have all these different tools but none of them do their job well. I'd rather cary several tools that have a single purpose that preform their task well.

If only there was Ti Para2 or H1 Assist...
