I have always had great service from CS, and that code has worked for the last month.
I really have no idea how Jeff makes any money..

cs is good, but they do not stock much, and their website updating on inventory in stock or not....is a bit behind reality. if they don't have it you will wait and whatever brand you buy..based on their shipping times and their stock times is what can translate into a loooonnnggg wait. if cs has it in stock though you are good to go. if i don't mind a potential wait i use cs, if i want it fast i use one of the bigger guys who stock more and have more accurate in stock notification on their website.

The trick with CS is calling and asking if the product is in stock before you order. I do it everytime. You get to have an interesting knife convo with Jeff, and you know immediately whether or not he has what you want. He grabs it from the warehouse for me while I'm on the phone, then I place an order online, and voila! In my hands 2-3 days later. I love CS and Jeff. KW is my alternate!

As far as CS not stocking enough... It is hard to keep things in stock when you sell Spyderco knives at $10-25 or more below Howe's and even further below other online knife dealers.

Look at the prices of any number of models... Para, Millie, etc. are all more expensive. everywhere else.

Either way it isn't relavent. Both have amazing service. I can't seem to get a Para2 from CS because they are constantly selling out at the price they sell them. I'm just going to pay the extra from Howe's so I don't have to backorder from CS.

I understand they loyalty to someone who shares the same passion though.

+1 CS and jeff

99% of my spydies and sharpening products were ordered through jeff's shop. After a bunch of quick email exchanges, I remember one time he was able to order a spydie for me that is rarely/never stocked anywhere.

CS service is pretty prompt, i usually get his stuff the fastest than any other online knife dealer I go to. I just ordered something saturday 1am and i get it Monday afternoon.

$5 is better than nutn'. I probably could have got that deal w/o the help of nutn'. but, thanks anyhow for the review.

Agree with v8r on this. Not knocking Howe's though, have heard great things about them.

I don't know that CS is smaller, I think that it may have more to do with the lower prices and the demand for them. I am not positive, but their might be a limit on how many they can order at a time, at least on the hotter knives. (I almost sent this with a funny typo, I had spelled "hotter knives" as hooter knives".) Actually, I think that I would be interested in a pair of hooter knives, sharp point, nice feel in the hands. I'd stay away from the serrated edges though.

This about sums up my experience with CS and Jeff. Great guy, great service, and great prices. I've waited longer to get knives from him just to save money and to give him my business. Barring sprint runs, it's where I get all my Spydercos.

and you are probably correct on "bigger"....i used a poor choice of words/assumptions there. i should clarify to any reader who googles this and wonder the reality of cutleryshoppe.....email jeff and he comes back fast with answers and without a doubt is a great guy and very, very helpful, but sometimes getting something can take awhile many weeks sometimes.... and i should have left it at that. there are much faster shippers with what appears to be more stock out there, but you'll pay a little bit to allot more, talking about spyderco's not other brands.

as for hooter knives.....my general policy is....i like to handle before i buy? :)

Absolutely mirrors my opinion about CS and Jeff. I'll send as much business as possible unless it's a high demand Sprint.

And based on that alone, they're a "boycott" company for me. Same with Lowes, when I wanted to order a SOG Blink, sub 2" blade, and they wouldn't ship to NY. I'm by West Point for God's sake, no where near NYC, yet these companies fold to invisible/unenforceable pressure.
Only way to change is to vote with your feet and walk your business elsewhere.

Jeff @ CS is top notch.

Just about week or so ago, I ordered ZDP-189 FFG Endura from CS. it was shipped same day (!!!) and yes coupon worked too.
As I said earlier, all of my orders with CS are shipped either same or next day. Love this store.

Glad everyone is saving some money :)

I have my Dragonfly g-10 on backorder and keep checking the CS site hoping it will come back in.

I also have a hawkbill H1 Ladybug on the way from a trusted ebay seller, and am about to buy another Spydie online.

Anyone have any experience with a site called NationalKnives. They appear to have many discontinued models in stock including the blue FRN ZDP Stretch and green Lum sprint... seems fishy, however they have a great ebay record.

Might just order a Para2 in digicam or Sage 1/3

Hey guys, just an update to the thread

I have a few more coupon codes to list for everyone

Tacticaldefender.com is giving 10% off your order when you use the coupon code GD73 at checkout.

Just got a digicam Para2 for $105.41 shipped!

Poor Fish also has a promo code for 20% off, but their prices are higher so it won't make as big-a-dent after shipping is added. Use 'SummerSale' promo code for discount.

I'm pretty sure the nutnfancy promo code is still working at CS.

thank YouTube reviewer GunDude73 for the coupon code at TD.com. They love subs!
