Thanks for asking our opinion. Pewter Spyder would be really cool. I'd be down for a lot and make fobs for friends.

Would prefer pewter, but would get at least a few of either. I'm not a huge fan of fobs, but I do use one on some of my Kiwis when wearing jeans with really deep watch pockets.

I would also prefer pewter it just looks better but I wwouldnt mind having some frn beads for my frn knives. Just think pewter looks a lot more classy and if I'm going to put a bead on my knife I want it to look good. I have a few from spartan blades. Pewter spartan helmets. I would love to have some pewter spyderco beads though. I would probably put them on my keychains and zipper pulls.

Depending on use, a lanyard might save your knife.

Years ago my EDC knife was a Barlow rope knife with a lanyard. Even though I spent many work days in a work boat using that knife to cut rope I still have it because it had a lanyard. It was always easy to get the knife out by grabbing the knot hanging out of my pocket. What I would have given for an H1 Spyderco back then. :)

I'd be interested.
Pewter would likely be my first choice, though I'm sure I'd pick up some in various FRN colors too.

I think i would like pewter better but for some reason i think i would be more inclined to use FRN. Someone mentioned the possibility of a pewter bead banging/scratching up your handle, which i could see happening. Pewter on the other hand has more weight, and would help a thick paracord lanyard/fob hang better...sometimes especially with shorter ones they tend to stick out instead of hanging straight down. Call me spoiled but i think both are a good idea...Pewter for nicer knives, like Ti and CF handles, and FRN for everything else.

I can't decide... but the FRN would add some color, which I like. I only have fobs on wee knives to extend the handle, but those fobs - I've sold a few just as keychains and I use them as such. I'd love some Spyderco beads. :cool:

I would prefer the pewter beads to put on my fobs.

On all of my tip-up knives I have a fob and was thinking of getting a bead but it seems like the majority of the beads out there are the death cult skulls which are very fashionable now a days. A non-skull Spyderco bead would sell a lot I bet.

Im torn. I like the weight of the pewter, but would like the colors of the FRN.

Either way I would buy a bunch for other items not just knife lanyards.

Far out I never even thought of Titanium! Do any other knife makers use this as a fob material?

If weight is an issue I'm sure they could put some pewter or pieces of spyderhole in the frn beads to add weight. Recycle some of that steel.

+1 on the skulls - right tired of seeing skulls on everything, so no skulls please. Yes, I heard Sal say the Spyder bug would be on them - I'm just sayin'.

Why not also make little medallions out of the leftover holes? Knock a little hole into the piece of metal so you can thread some paracord through, then engrave the Spyderco logo into it. It'd be extremely cheap to do and would look cool dangling off the end of a lanyard or as a necklace.

Of course, they would have to stamp it with the type of steel, right? I can just see the forum threads now -"More S90V keychains please!" or "When is the M4 sprint bead coming out?"

FRN for me. I hate to ding up my knives and color options would be great!

**** they could laser etch the logo into the hole leftovers if stamping was an issue.

Very cheap but cool to produce indeed. Every one of us would have a bit of someone elses knife :D .

+1 for the comment by Splice. A very simple round bead with the hole of course and a tiny logo that could be used as a nice lanyard bead or to hang off a bead chain or paracord around the neck. I think that both the pewter and FRN would be nice as lanyard beads, with maybe some limited anodized Ti or exotic steel runs. It's clear that lots of people do not like lanyards/fobs or anything on the knife. A lot of us do. Not always, but Sal, I know that they would sell like crazy. I make paracord gear, and have several skulls on my own lanyards. To tell you the truth, I am kind of over it, but some people still like them. To each his own. I prefer the clean and simple look. Spydiehole beads and charms all the way!

I'd love to see some Spyder beads! No big preference on material although colors in FRN would be pretty cool... then again, pewter is nicely classy. Maybe both?

Although intended for knife lanyards, I could see a bead like this going nicely on any kind of paracord project.
