Storage requirements vary by each State. Many people keep their guns in large safes. However, even if the guns are stored in a very secure 300kg safe, the thieves can't know that--and, keep in mind, when discussing people who rob homes, we're not talking about the clearest thinking bunch. And, once entering the home to find the guns, it is safe to assume that anything else in the home, including people, will NOT be safe.

Would you like for your government to advertise that you had a rare coin collection in your home, even if you kept the coins in a safe?

No of course not and like I said earlier I'm not in favor of this either. My main point was is that it would be a double edged sword and the person purposing it might not have thought this through as fully as he/she thinks.

The storage I just wanted to know about cause in Canada we have very very strict laws about fire arms period.
