Our laws and ordinances don't really make it illegal but I wouldn't like being stared at because of that. Also since we are not allowed to carry our FAs IWB, a fixed blade on the belt might be mistaken for one and might get the LEOs called on me.
I can't imagine your weather being much worse than mine here (100F+ pretty regular, 110F+ with the humidity index) and I carry my Street Beat on my belt daily. Just hook it to your belt and pull your shirt over it. With all of the cellphones out there in peoples hips now, it'll pass muster.
The thing to keep in mind is that most people are completely oblivious to things going on around them, let alone whether or not you have a 1-1/2" chunk of plastic strapped to your hip with a 1" chunk of steel in it.
Here's the sheath I make for the Street Beat. Has a G-clip that can be swapped out for an optional IWB loop. G-clips can also let you carry IWB beltless, as with sweats or running shorts. by clipping it to the waistband.

Is that with the stock sheath? Or do you have a custom sheath like Mike Sastre's?

Nice sheath Mike, what would one had to pay for that?

I did it with the stock sheath for a while but it didn't take too long for it to turn into a complete rattle trap. I then ordered a "custom" sheath from the factory source and it was complete garbage. I swapped to the Invictus VersaCarry about four months ago and it has been a complete dream since then. I have pulled the mounts completely off of the screws (tek-locks come with cheapo aluminum hardware) on both of the sheaths by rubbing between walls and pallets without any damage to the sheath and Matt sent me free top-notch stainless Spyderco G-Clip hardware for free.
Matt is a top-notch bender and very reasonable in his pricing compared to many makers out there. One nice additional touch to his sheaths is that he has started to tweak his designs a bit so you can grab your knife with minimal wrist articulation a la Shivworks if that's something you want. He's not just interested in making a knife holder, he wants to make sure you have a good deployment system based upon tested principles as well.
As a side story, Matt took some ideas that I had about sheath designs and added them without charging extra despite the extra parts and time involved, including scrapping a completed sheath in his old style and making me a new one to my specs without even having gotten paid for it yet. Customer service like that really is hard to find and his attention to detail in all phases makes him my go-to plastic bender.
A great place to carry your Street Beat, as mentioned in Mr. Janich's excellent article in the newest issue of Tactical Knives, is right up front just to the left or right of your belt buckle. Easy access, conceals well under an untucked shirt, and a really sneaky draw stroke if you need it en extremis. You can use your Tek-lock/G-Clip to add an angle if you want but I find horizontal works best for me.

How is that done? Is that horizontal, vertical, or something in between? Sounds interesting though. In that location, I think that it can be very quick to deploy.

This where I carry mine.
Use a small Tec-Loc and mount it horizontally. In just to the left (if you are right handed) of the belt buckle.
