nobody knows that is the price its going for in distributors, but if they only produce 500 of these and you pick up one you will be able to sell it later for maybe 500 bucks like the 25th anniversary Delica, just throwing that out there .

i will only pick up one for my collection of Delicas, alot of people see this knife as being ugly just like many others said the 25th anniversary is ugly but that is almost the most sought after Spydercos to collect.

I wish i could pick up many of them.

You're right, that is a good point. If I was a delica collector or a serious collector I would probably try to buy one, but just from the appeal of the knife I'm not really interested.

not picking up one would be stupid in my honest opinion, just think of how many people talked crap about the Delica Anniversary, the ones that didnt buy one are the ones shooting themselves in the foot right now, btw i havent sold one Spyderco ever! ive given many away but never sold one.

Back in the day if i was around on these forums i probably would have picked up many of those 25ths and made a slight fortune, also this might not happen with the knife we are talking about but if they only make a limited run on these Delicas you should pick atleast one for save keeping. Like i said i havent sold a single Spyderco but buying a piece of history is priceless ...

maybe im being too selling but..........

btw im wasted in USA from coors lights

i agree. it is a very important model being made. the sentimental value and its importance in the compnay's history. i mean even if your not a delica fan it would still be worth it. god forbid you decide not to keep it you will get your money back and then some probably. keep for a while then use it to get a newer spydie you like more.
i hope they will be in some fancy box. or at least not a normal red box. im anxious to have something like that in my collection. 25 years...
but i agree it is a little overwhelming looking for some at first but that just makes it unique.

I can really understand collectors wanting to get hold of one but I don't buy to invest and I don't really collect ... I carry my knives and use them, so design and usability are very important. I'm sure many people will love it and I really like the Damascus blade but the handle just doesn't do it for me - just a personal thing. :)
My spydies: Squeak, Tenacious, Terzuola, D'Allara, UKPK CF peel-ply pre-production, UKPK CF smooth pre-production, UKPK G10 orange leaf-blade, UKPK FRN grey drop-point, UKPK FRN maroon leaf-blade, Bug ... all PE blades :)

Too much going on with the design and too many screws for my taste. Its a bit too ugly for me.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

As far as buying knives to resell in the future, I have no interest in that. I would rather invest in a power tool or equipment that will make me money right away, pay for itself in one or two jobs, and still be there to make more. Buying and holding an ugly knife hoping to make $100-200 in the future isnt worth it to me. I dont buy anything I dont use anyways.

Really? I've never heard of it in the 2+ years that I've been in the knife community. Can't be THAT important lol

In the grand scheme of things, I'm not sure there's any "collectible" knife which is THAT important. Am also sure you're right if you're talking the knife community as a whole. I've been part of that community for at least seven years and I know there are plenty of knives which collectors specializing in other brands hold dear that I've never heard about and would probably not recognize if someone posted a picture. On the other hand, if you took a poll of "serious" Spyderco collectors, the 25th Anniverary Delica is one of the dozen or so models which would be on almost every list of "grail" knives.

That said, I doubt anyone can say for sure how things will go in the future. There have been so many "limited production" models in the past several years that I wonder if the concept may be starting to wear thin.

Does anyone have a link to a picture of the Damascus Delica you guys are talking about? (Or is that a real stupid question).

Here's a direct link to Mr. Blonde's post with pictures of it.

And, assuming you haven't already done so, and have an hour or so to kill, you might want to browse the entire thread that post comes from. :D

I'd love to get one. I enjoy the unconventional asthetics. All depends on if I can afford it. Hmm, might have to put off the PPT, vg-10 Stretch, and SE Cricket.

This Delica will be truly special and unique.

I'm another that doesn't care too much for this knife. It sounded good on paper, but with all the pins and lack-luster Damascus pattern, I think I'll pass. I love the original 25th Anniversary Delica with Ed's Spyder-Damascus, but this one is just too overdone. If I were to make some changes, I'd hide the pins, get rid of the weird indent on the bolster, and use a different Damascus pattern.

I Photoshopped one of Mr. Blonde's proto pictures, using Devin Thomas' Vines & Roses Damascus pattern, to alter the knife more to my liking. I think it's still very much the same knife, but more refined to my own preferences. Of course, hiding pins in actual production is much more difficult than clicking a few buttons in Photoshop, but here's what I came up with (original on top, my customized version on bottom):

I think the pattern on the blade looks incredible. Almost like water. The handle really isn't to my tastes I can wait for them to produce a damascus delica with a tolerable handle.

Give the man a cigar.

As for the knife, let me be a little more kind--it is very busy.
