Excellent photo hawkbill. Bless you and may you live for a thousand years.
The H1 Spyderhawk blades have some serious curvature. Just what I had hoped for. Like the deep curve of the forum hawkbill and not like the shallow curve of the Superhawk. Outstanding.
Well done and whoohoo! I get what I wanted.
Oh Spyderco you burn so bright, revel in your time.
They look great. Are these a sprint run or normal stock?
Current collection: Black PE Millie, Yellow SE Tasman, Black E4 PE FRN, Yeller Pacific Salt PE, SS Dragonfly PE, Orange FRN Ladybug, Black UKPK
Wishlist: Syderhawk Salt, non-green Rocklobster :)
Thats right deacon and he made my day when he said that cuz my funds are short right now. This means i can wait a week or two and still get one. i know this isn't the place but if someone could maybe take a comparison shot of this next to a superhawk i'd appreciate it. Post it in the photo section or in this thread either way. I have a superhawk i just wanna see what the size difference is
In hand H1 Spyderhawk review: Big (Endura-sized), robust & deeply curvaceous hawk blade, no spine jimping, great grind on both serrated and plain edges, pinned construction, flawless lockup, lite weight, clip holds pocket edge well, good grip in forward and reverse positions, they are affordable & available.
Here are my "in hand" pics of the new H1 Spyderhawk:
Plain edge, reverse and forward grips:
Serrated edge, reverse and forward grips:
These Spyderhawks grip up nice and comfy even in my slightly huge paws. Perfect for me since I carry an E4 daily because it fits me so well.
I've taken the added measure of cleaning and waxing the "H1" logo, that is etched onto the blades, in order to mitigate any discoloration and to start off the relationship bright and shiny.
I'm really happy with my SE Spyderhawk so far. I like it much better than the Superhawk I owned for a while. The Superhawk felt like a brick in my back pocket, while the Spyderhawk just disappears in my pocket. So light and thin, but what a blade!
Only issue I noticed with my knife is some kind of small black pit on the inside channel of the FRN handle near the back. At first, I was worried that maybe the barrel nut for the clip had cracked the FRN somehow and was showing through the handle channel, but now I think it's just a small manufacturing irregularity. Probably wouldn't even notice it if the handle was a different color. So, overall, really liking this knife so far. :D

It is lighter in weight than my Endura 4. No liners and less hardward on the Spyderhawk.
I don't have any blemishes on the inside of my Spyderhawks. Can you photo your irregularity. If it doesn't weaken the handle then it is character/birthmark.
mine should be here tomorrow. i usually don't get this excited about a new knife. i am going to see if i can get a river city sheath for the spyderhawk.
Anyone comment on how they like the PE model compared to the SE?
H1 serrations are definitely different than my VG10 ones (less pointy) but they sure seem sharp. These are very wicked blades no matter the color or edge configuration :) .

I will always like SE over PE but for some reason with the Spyderhawk i think the PE looks better
anyways, ill probably carry the SE but these just came in and they lock up perfectly flush like i was hoping, this is one sweet hawkbill.
Edit: doesnt the Tasman Salt have jimping? this one is missing that
Yes, Tasmans all have jimping. As far as I can tell, jimping was left off the H-1 Spyderhawks simply because the "original" Spyderhawks were sans jimping.
Oh, and I'm batcrap crazy about this knife! Once again, thank you Sal! :D
God Bless Texas!
