David, I'm sorry to hear about your wife's father. My prayers go out to you guys.

As far as everyone writing to protect our rights, thank you all for doing this, no matter how much you've written. I'm not American, so as much as I'd like to help out, it's obviously not my place. But this does affect all of us, worldwide. If the US CBP pushes this through, everything will change for the worse, regardless of where we live. So thank you for your effort.

Condolences on your family's loss David.

I feel your frustration. I doubt my senators paid my letters any mind at all. But I also feel that when we get the point where the issues and situations seem to crystallize like this it's all the more important to support what we think is right. If they ever did manage to get AOs and one-handed openers restricted/banned they'll eventually come down the same road for that SAK or old slippie you're carrying. Giving up due to frustration is what the opposition is hoping we'll do. I sure won't give them the satisfaction.

OK, I know you're starting to get Amendment and Email Fatigue, but believe me, it is working, or we wouldn't be here to ask again. You are the ones who have made this happen.

David,
I am sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences. I know this is hard.
Also I can understand your frustration with direction where we are going. I lived 35 years of my life in socialist country (trust me, it wasn't fan) and I thought that this is in the past. Still, we have to do something, at least write these letters.

Dude! I am SO SORRY! We've been there and I know what you're going through. Prayers sent, my friend!

It does. And I'm sick of it. And it's not one party or the other. They are both headed down this path (at a somewhat quicker pace under the current admin, to be sure).

I don't know where this is all heading but if sending an occasion email will slow down the pace (at all!), I'm in....

Take a pass, bro. Go take care of your family and come back strong to fight the next fight (you know there will be a NEXT fight!)
