Mine's 'eco-drive' i.e. solar powered...not kinetic...but even if you don't 'wind' the kinetic's for a few days there's an internal solar battery to check passively how much time has passed since the hands stop....
when you then shake the watch and wind the spring...the hands speedily spin around and around, setting the date setting until the present time is reached...absolutely amazing. :cool:

I decided to buy the basic model at wal-mart, the DW5600E, seemed like a good way to start. Now I think I need a mudman, I want the one with the reverse display.
