That knife with a liner lock, I would by as many as $500 would allow. I would prefer that would by me about 8 knives, then I would be set for life and have a few for my kids to inherit, I am getting tired of all the latest Spydie's seeming to run $140 to $240. I know costs have gone up, but endura's and delica's stayed at their price points for a very long time.

Who's interested? Would you prefer hollow saber, or full flat grind?
FFG, lower cost, and i'd be interested, to be sure... :D

Best of luck to those who want it though :D
I'm not sure how much I like the knife either, but I feel sorry for you in Nebraska. That's a stupid law. I don't really like Arizona that much but I do like how weapons are a norm here (even though I'm not very pro-gun) and a concealed weapons permit allows you to carry ANYTHING (minus ninja weapons:rolleyes :) and it's an easy permit to get if your record is clean. And even if you don't have the permit it's an open-carry state so as long as it's visible you can have it, whatever it may be. You're more likely to get strange looks with a 6 inch knife on your belt than with a .45 1911. That's life the wild west, go figure.

That Native chief looks very nice just as pictured. VG10, or 154cm depending on where it's made and I'd be set. I like that knife. :) Joe

From the looks of it I'd have to say " It's not quite my cup of tea"....

I would love to see this native with:
Solid barrel bolt clip, full linners, CPMS30V and saber hollow grind.

If they give it a FFG I won't buy one.To me the blade grind is what makes it a Native.I have Spydies with flat ground, hollow ground etc,and the marginal slicing ability of FFG dosen't make much difference in the real world.I would rather have the extra material left on my blades. All my knives cut just fine when they are kept sharp. But to each his own I guess. Not trying to step on anyones toes Just can't understand why FFG is all the rage.If you want a Chief with a FFG blade take a Millie and reprofile the spine, and there ya go.I hope they leave it as is. :)

I saw the original pic of that "proto" several years ago and I must say it got me very interested since I've only handled/fondled a a Native once, and my first impression was "Wish it was bigger". I see it leaning as an EDC utility folder. That straight spine with no "hump" on the blade makes it look more controllable thumb-wise for a lot of cutting tasks. As a user too, no top-swedge for me. FFG sounds cool too.
I still like it and would like to get it (although the wallet's going to hurting for the Chokwe as well :) )

I agree completely. Not a big fan of the FFG blades.
I have an FRN Native and a Tenacious and the Tenacious (I think) would be a much better knife if the blade was like the Native's.

LOL! ME TOO!!

This knife looks great, I would much rather have it in a compression lock though

That looks a lot like a Byrd Flight. Has anyone held both? I almost bought a flight, but maybe I'll wait.

This Native looks really interesting. It would be great to have another large folder to carry around and compliment my Millie, Chinook, and Manix. Made in Golden with G10 and CPM S30V? Consider it sold for me. :)

Please no, I can't afford to have any more spydies on my wish list!!!
Seriously though: As is, the Native Chief looks very good. But I think Flat Grind would clearly be better received amongst afi's.

I would love one. Keep the hollow sabre grind (it gives the blade more character) and replace the barrel-bolt attachment for the clip (too much tendency to rotate).
