RICHAR wrote:I got a DELICA 3 ATS-55 combo edge new in box. Know where a cache of these are in a gun store. They are in white boxes. There are ATS-55 CE ENDURAS also and RESCUES.
This is probably old but in new condition remainder of old stock that was not sold for a long time.Thats my thinking because of the blade material being ATS-55.

My wife didn't buy me any knives, but she gave me money to buy quite a few:
Turquoise Kopa, Khalsa, Jigged Bone Kopa, two Calypsos with matching numbers, Blue Bone Kopa and many more :)

How close in similarity is the endura to the pacific salt?

After working 72 hrs a week for 3 months, I felt entitled to getting myself a few gifts. (Told the wife / family not to bother with me on x-mas this year)
The surprise is how much I like the Poliwog. Only improvement would be lower blade jimping. :D

I got my christmas gift from my friend last night and it was a NIB C84P Karambit, still in plastic baggy and with plastic still on the handles.

Chris Mapp wrote:The title says it all. I thought I was done opening gifts this morning, when my girlfriend reached under the tree and handed me a box. I opened it up to find another box. I opened that one to find something that was wrapped up. I unwrapped it to find a grey Spyderco box with Delica CF on one end. I slid open the box to find a Delica 4 that had come from Santa Fe Stoneworks. I'm not sure what the onlay is, but it is gorgeous. I'll have to post some pics when I get a chance.
Who else got a Spyderco or few for X'mas?
You have peaked my curiosity.

My Chinese Folder in ZDP-189 arrived on December 24. It was ordered in August 2008 and thanks to Knifecenter arrived just in time for Christmas.

Will take some pics of both and post it this evening.
Major features...
Pacific Salt: Blade of H-1 steel (does not rust). My one has full SE. Blade is hollow ground drop point. Handle is Yellow FRN.
Endura: Blade VG-10. My one has PE hollow ground blade drop point. Handle black FRN.
Blade length is pretty similar (approx 95mm)
In a nutshell... very similar knives. Major difference is that the pacific salt will not rust due to the H-1 steel.

maybe this helps
I'd also mention that the 14mm hole on the Pacific generates more 'hump' on the blade, thus a steeper thump ramp - not hard to get used to, but still a little uncomfortable in the beginning, at least for me

IIRC,
Both the Endura and the Pacific Salt are Flat-Saber ground.
But I might be wrong.
Thanks

EDIT
Heres another pic
I stole this photo from yablanowitz. (Sorry yab)
(i might be wrong) but i think those are:
1st Gen SE Endura
3rd Gen PE Endura
PE Pacific Salt - Latest version with the small jimping and the H1 logo
4th Generation Endura4, British Racing Green with ZDP-189 steel
Foliage green G10 Flat Ground Endura
I am unsure of the second one from the top. The lack of david boyle dent is throwing my brain off.
