I'm a big fan of both the Native and the Wegner. I have used both extensively, and highly recommend them. All the knives suggested are certainly worthy carries for any job, the main questions are how much knife do you need, and how well does the knife fit you? One thing I will take exception to is the idea that the Wegner's liner lock is somehow inadquate. I carried the large Wegner on seven major wildfires last summer, and it saw extensive use cutting everything from dinner to heavy underbrush. I have never felt the least bit squemish about the lock. Any knife that walks the lock should be treated as a defective piece and returned. Defects happen with the best production pieces, and are no reason to think that the design is compromised.
