I passed on a Lil Temp, and a Gunting with a trainer set. I hate not having those.

Cranberry Chinese Lum: factory original

No it wasn't a custom blade. The factory made around 100 or so from what I was later told by a guy in San Diego. The guy that won that auction used to be very active here on the Spyderco forum. He went by the name Swede. I got to know him and used to chat with him some. He had some very rare Spyders in his collection. I would bet that he still has that knife. I saw the knife before he did but he pulled the trigger and jumped on it. There was also a dark gray Chinese Lum with a Spyder & web that there are very few of as well. No that Cranberry Lum was a true factory Spyder for sure

The legendary Cranberry Lum was only 2 produced as prototypes by Spyderco. Swede is indeed one of the 2 people to have one :) . There was not 100 made... only 2 :D

I have never heard of the Gray Spyderweb one before... has anyone else ?

The guy that gave me that figure of 100 Cranberry Lums being made was a guy I used to trade with a lot. I had never doubted him because he told me a lot of stuff that ended up being true. On the other hand I'm not doubting you either because it sounds like you've maybe got the straight scoop on it. And I can believe that there might only be 2 of them because I've personally not seen another one for sale since that time. Now the Dark Gray Chinese Lum I saw on Bladeforums about 3 years ago when a guy was showing off some of his Spyders he made a photo of. I PMed him and he assured me that the Dark Gray lum with the Spyder & Web was a factory blade as well. I have seen one other Dark Gray Lum on a collector website about a year ago so I assume that there must have been a small number of them made as well. Kind of like the Church Mouse and orange handled Remote Release>> there just isn't many of them around. JD :spyder: O

There have been many, but SMKW had the Ayoob PE,or SE on clearance for$44.95 and the VG10 Viele either PE ,or SE for$59.95.I bought one of each I should have took out a loan, and bought all they had.
I also bought four spydie mouse's on ebay for$40 each I should have bought more.I still have one,and gave both of my sons one, traded the other.

David, I am in exactly the same boat. I had a user and two backups, got them for 50 each. Sold them for more after the Caly3, but wish I hadn't.

A Lil Temperance on close out at a local store for $100. Not the cheapest deal, but the last one within my grasp for less than $150 and not on eBay. :(

Mine would be a PE SS Native. It wasn't a bargain at 100 bucks but they are so hard to find and I have yet to find another one.

I've passed up a lot of good deals in the 10 years that I've been buying Spydercos. There really are too many to list. I've missed most of the good deals on the sale and trade forums on Bladeforums.
