What is YOUR favorite every day carrying Spyderco?

I rotate through many knives, but the one that suits my tastes and uses the best is a UK Pen Knife. My custom wire clip Para is a close second, with my reprofiled ZDP189 Endura or BG42 Military being 3rd.

The UKPK carries extremely well and I find the small blade to work better for utility than the Military. Some days I just want a large knife, and that's where the rest come in.

My all time favorite, all purpose carrying knife is certainly a Spyderco and one of the very best blades of all time. MY FAVORITE EDC Is THE C-44 big DYAD~! There just aren't many cutting chores I can't accomplish with that blade.

Best of both worlds with a big, sheepsfoot serrated blade with a slight belly to it. Also a surgical grade, clip point, plain edged blade. It carries in my pocket just as comfortably as any other Spyder I've carried in the past.

If I were given a choice of one knife to carry for the next year and not being able to have another one it would be the C-44 big Dyad hands down. It is a grand slam, home run over the center field wall. It is the "cat's meow" and the life of the party. It is Spyderco at it's finest>>> and that settles it :D

My absolute first is the Paramilitary PE, on the second is my first spyder: Native 3 PE, and on the third my brand new Tenacious PE :D

You're all mistaken. The Native is the best.

Well "gac" about a year ago I would have argued with you about that. But about 5 months ago I went to my footlocker and pulled out an older 440V, SE, Golden CO made Native and started EDCing it.

I must say that I've been very pleasantly surprised. Now I've always liked the Native but I had never really given the knife an ongoing, roughhouse test like I have this one. And it's past all of those tests very well indeed.

My biggest love of Spyders is still the C-44 big Dyad with no close second but I will say that the Native deserves a whole lot more respect than most people give it. And the Native in 440V is one tough cookie and can take horrendous abuse and handle it well. This knife is not my ultimate fav but it truly deserves a thumbs up :spyder:

My first Spydie for EDC was a Delica 3 black FRN, VG-10 plain. I replaced it with a Caly 3 G10 plain and am totally satisfied now.

... once you get that Mini P you'll be hard pressed to get that outta your pocket...

I follow your thought - I sold a Persian 75 mm to one of my co-workers and it's his EDC from the day he got it.

my D4's are alltime EDC-because they are supertough,and great allround users,and they look cool.
the Caly3 plainedge is a special pocketcarry for all elite and precision cutting/superslicer specific.

right now ive been EDCing the carbon fiber SE Delica alot, its super thin its got the classic Delica shape i love, super light, i love the knife

really wish it had jimping like the new D4s though

My favorite daily carry Spyderco is by far the Navigator I.

With that said I have recently rediscovered the Salsa and that has been my EDC for the last couple of weeks.

Well, I know it´s hard to find other EDC models if you love the Delica. Since I got it I EDC the D4W PE and lately with the D4 SS SE, which has become my main tool. Before the Delicas the Paramili has been my first EDC. So my suggestion is Paramilitary PE/SE as 2nd EDC. The Compression Lock is a nice complement to the Front Lock. The Paramili like the Delica is very versatile in its ergos and it also has jimping like the D4s.

For me, it's been a Delica of one sort or another. The G-10/FFG/PE, though, has been in my pocket since I got it :) Everything else rotates around it.

Same here. More specifically: my Delica Wave. I've been considering getting a Caly, but I don't really like choils.

All right!!! Hold on a minute!!! :rolleyes: :D Now look brother Slice you know and everyone else knows my love and affinity for Spyderco's fine Hawkbill blades. And you know deep down in your heart that I in no way disrespected or blasphemed any Hawkbill blades under any circumstances :)

I guess I should have made it clear to the listening audience that I "ALWAYS" carry one of my Hawkbills as an additional cutting tool irrespective of what standard folder I might be carrying. Most people that know me know that is a given for sure . For instance this past work week I carried my SE, 440V Native along with my H-1 Tasman Salt everyday this week and I have the 2 blades in my pockets as we speak now.

Come on ol buddy you know me better than that :D . But the C-44 Dyad is truly my first Spyder Love and many of my friends and aquintances have know that for a long time. Hawkbill specialist and Spyderville's dignitary the esteemed Doctor Hannibal Lecter will testify that everything I just said is 100% the truth.

When I carry my C-44 Dyad I usually always either have my G-10 Harpy or my blue, PE Spyderhawk there to accompany it. I always have a Hawkbill as a companion EDC. Now put down your rocks and stop this talk of blasphemy :D

RIOT, I was fortunate to have a friend who gave me a Native SE, and with my SAK soldier I feel I am prepared for just about anything. The Native SE is a tool, I have cut industrial hoses ( fiber, belted, reinforced ) hard ASB pipe, cardboard boxes, and a tomato for lunch, umm ! :rolleyes: Although you could choose just about any Spyderco, my Native fits in the pocket well and falls in the hand like no other, Sal did his homework on this one.

As I find myself in a suit at the office most days, something a little dressy is called for as an EDC. I really thought the Mini Persian would be a perfect fit: a wicked slicer, small enough to be unobtrusive, formal enough to suit office environs. But it does draw some sheeple stares when I open mail etc, and the lovely bolsters got a couple of big scratches just riding in my empty pocket for a few days. (Okay, maybe I did accidently put it in a pocket with my keys once, ONCE :o ).

Actually, now I think about the reasons I'm not EDCing it, maybe the Mini Persian will go back into the rotation. I'm sure the office sheeple would think better of me if I just tore open packages with my teeth and bloodied my fingers trying to pry open clam packs by hand, like they do, but I prefer to keep my body intact. And the scratches just add a 'patina' of character, right? :)

However, I never leave home without my FRN Cricket SE. It always brings a smile to my face, and cuts like crazy. Wish I had one in orange...

Also if you would be lucky enough to find one they made a Micarta Handled C-39 Dyad Jr. model that is really attractive. Those are a few to consider for your workplace. Spyderco is a bonanza for small blades. Good Luck

Thanks JD, good recommendations. I do EDC a Kopa in my inside breast pocket sometimes, but with a fountain pen and a laser pointer in there too, it can get a little crowded. I guess it's time for the pen and pointer to go... :D

I am VERY interested in a CF Kiwi. What a little beauty! I'm not a big fan of carrying loose in pocket but if I'm careful and don't lose it, this Kiwi might change my mind. :)
