Since I picked up a few new knives lately, I've been going thru the rounds with each of them. These past couple days, I've been carrying the trailing-point Lil' Temperance. At first, I wasn't too keen on the blade geometry; thinking it wouldn't work out so well as an EDC. But the more I play with it, the more I like it. It has a good feel in the hand.

Before that, I was carrying the Salsa for several days. I like this knife. It feels in good in the hand. Also, I feel the blade geometry is pretty "sheeple" friendly.

But my all time fave, and usual EDC is my green Lum Chinese Folder. I don't know what it is, but there's something about this leaf blade and the handle that just so very appealing to me. The first time I saw it, I knew I just had to have it. I can't truly articulate into words how or why this knife is so appealing to me. Every time I rotate my EDC back to this knife, it feels like an old friend, that it's just right.

There are so many Spydercos to choose from, so many designs, all very good, but to me, the Lum Chinese Folder is the ultimate.

I'd LOVE a Lum Chinese folder. It's a bit too big for me to carry as an EDC.

I think you may have sold me on the Calypso Jr & Salsa.

You & Kahz should start a knife selloing co.

How does the Lum Chinese compare to the Calypso Jr? Same steel blade, both flat ground right?

I picked up a Mouse about a week ago and LOVE it! Very solid little knife with a blade that just cuts and cuts. I hope that Blade Tech keeps them on sale for another month or two so I can have time to rebuild my finances and pick up a spare.

I hate to admit this but I have no solid idea exactly how big the Salsa is. For some reason I thought it was kinda small, but from reading the discussion on here I am beginning to think that it is not quite as small as I thought. Could somebody maybe scan a Salsa with a Delica or Mouse or something so I can get a better idea??? Pretty please :-D

Ditto what Jeff said! Great picture., The Salsa is a LOT more stout than I tought it was. For some reason I was seeing it in my mind as a much smaller, more Mouse-sized knife.

That looks like a very stout, most interesting little knife.

The Salsa is a _great_ medium folder. It's pretty light because of the aluminum scales, but because of the finger choils, you end up with a great grip.

I haven't really had it long enough to determine how sheeple friendly it is, but my gut feeling is that the Salsa will definitely be one of the more sheeple friendly Spydercos. Mostly because the blade doesn't look very big, nor does it have an extreme point on it. The colorfulness of the scales will also help. The green is a great color for it. The blue is pretty nice too. The tan is kinda strange, tho. Looking at the pictures in the catalog, it looks like it's almost khaki colored, but I saw one in person today and it's more of a dark grey, or a light charcoal color.

The price that you can find it at most online retailers is a great price point. I think the retail price is a bit on the high side, but when compared to the retail prices of other spydercos, it's again a great price for what you get.

Just recently got my Mouse in, have tried it out briefly as an EDC. It's a great knife! However, Sal must have had me in mind when he designed the Navigator, it just fits me better than the Mouse.

Aesthetics, I prefer the blade profile on the Navigator, but, while they both look great, the Mouse has a slight edge in aesthetics, IMHO, over my slotted Almite PE Navigator.

Ergonomics, the Mouse is very well designed, but as I said Sal must have designed the Navigator for me ... for a knife this size it's a masterpiece of design, thanx, Sal! (I like his Copilot design, but can definitely see Sal's point that the Navigator is his more "refined" design, that his "skills as a designer were more experienced when the Navigator was designed&quot<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>.

Strength/Toughness, I prefer the dual steel liners on the Mouse, but both are strong enough for what I'm looking for in a knife this size.

Performance, both VG10 steel, I'm very happy. I do prefer the Navigator's blade profile, and it fits my hand so well ...

Fortunately, I can afford both knives, but prefer the Navigator. A personal choice, for sure, since the Mouse is great, just doesn't beat out the Navigator as my personal EDC. Kudos to <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> for two great designs!
