I don't like it on 3" and smaller, but on an a larger blade I can see how it would come in handy.

I know many people have a preference toward the spyderedge but CE is the best setup for me. My work environment consists of mostly NKP I so usually EDC something on the smaller side. Although SE definitely has the advantage for what I consider heavy cutting, I am not usually doing heavy cutting. Most of what I use a knife for would be (likely) thought of as light use.

For years, my only spyderco was a FRN CE ladybug. The older kind with the 50/50 PE/SE. I was a kid and did not even know there were other spyderco that were configured otherwise. For the most part, it could cut most everything I needed it to; it was small and allowed discreet use and then quietly back into the pocket. It may be for no other reason than being sentimental, but I've always considered the CE the most versatile blade.

IMHO it all depends on what you are carrying for. Nowadays, if I was going to be outside all day, camping for example, I'm confident that something in SE and larger than a Ladybug would be in my pocket. If I'm in the office, around the 'sheeple' all day, I'd be more likely to have something smaller and either PE or CE.

I dislike it and it breaks my heart that the white Goddard only comes in CE. I understand that making a CE native, Delica, and an Endura. Main steam knives where more options are better.

I strongly dislike putting CE in a sprint run where it is the only option. Collectors, judging by CE demanding the lowest collector resale value, don't like CE so why put it in sprint runs? Not saying all collectors, but I think I can safely say the majority. When I hunt around for older spyidies, it's always the CE sitting on the shelf, that's a hint for someone.

I didn't hate it. In fact my first Spyderco was a CE Endura. I still have it and it sees my pocket from time to time. But that said, after buying it, I will never buy another CE Spyderco. This reminds me. I need to find my SE Endura 4... I think its in my truck... haha.

Just got my first (Endura) and I love it.

I wish my Delica and Caly was CE as well.

I love CE. But I also love my Salt I. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Spyderco will release the Salt I in CE.

I don't mind Combo-edges. As somebody already mentioned, the serrated section bites into the medium and as the blade is drawn through the cut, the straight edge finishes the cut with less drag and without binding up. If I'm not mistaken, before the Yojimbo became a legendary slicer, Mr. Janich leaned toward a combo-edge for MBC blades for the same reason just mentioned (His substantiated opinions I would place second to none).
I really like the fully serrated Spyderedge, though. As the CEO and founder of Spyderco has said, "All God's creatures have knives"...to which I would add, "Many of those knives are serrated, in one manner or another".

I like CE quite a lot. Personally, in my random EDC tasks I have appreciated having some serrations quite often. I think a CE blade is very versatile. I especially like how Spyderco CE blades use a traditional V-grind on the plain edge portion (rather than a chisel grind), but you still have those serrations at the base of the blade for certain tasks or to start a cut. Foliage green Delica in CE is one of my favorite users.

The plain edge portion of the PS Native I has a chisel grind, and not the usual V grind. I was considering getting the PS or the PE Native and decided on the PE version when I found out about the chisel grind on the PS model.

I didn't like the CE on my BM 555. I just ordered a CE Military, so I'll see how I like it on a longer blade.

I have recently come to appreciate CE knives a lot more. My primary work (state park maintenance and farming) knife has been a ZDP Endura in combo edge, and it has proven very versatile. I prefer a plain edge for almost all situations, but the SE portion of the blade is very useful around the shop for cutting cord, hose, zip-ties, etc. Usually get my PE fix for finer work with a SAK Farmer that has taken permanent residence in my pocket. When fishing, hunting, or camping, I always carry a good fixed blade with me, so the folder rarely gets used and having that bit of SE around is not a bad thing.

However, when in the city or at school, most knives I carry are still plain edge. It is just my preference for most tasks.

RIOT,

I remember there being a poll for the most favorite knife edge a while back. Cannot recall what thread it was. I do know that the PE was the most popular at about 70-75%. IIRC. :)

i actually like the way plain edge looks when viewing a knife next to fully serrated but for edc and actually using the knife you got to have serrations somewhere
