I'd love a dark green G-10 Lum. The reason I didn't buy one in the late 1990s was i thought my fingers might slip onto the blade. G-10 would cure that. It's a beautiful design that shouldn't be relegated to history.

Unfortunately, the knife is not mine, pic is not mine either (unknown who made it) and at least 4 years old.

Ryan,
Very nice Dragon Lum :) The engraving looks like it was done quite well. It'd be a great EDC as it has been 'molested' and the pristine factor has been removed. And as icing, the engraving is unique.

Wouter,
Thanks for the photo. As per my previous post I think it is 1 of 2. It surely is a brilliant piece and a great historical piece at that. I love the cranberry/ royal purple colour and wish I could get a ranberry Lum myself. More cranberry Spydies IMHO wouldn't be a bad thing. However, for the most part black FRN/ G10/ micarta/ almite is the preferred carry colour.
Cheers

For those who don't know. The new Lum is black because that's the color Bob Lum chose for it when Sal asked to do another run of the Chinese Folder.

As for me, of the three "normal" colors, I'd have to say the green is my favorite. The blue looks more like gunmetal grey than blue to my eyes. And, like a lot of others I wish the red had made it to production. However, the black will be special, since its color was picked by Bob. But I wouldn't pass up one in digital camo - if it had a left handed liner lock. ;) :D

Paul,

If you have any beans to spill onthe DC this would be the place to do so. However, I am hesitant is accepting that the DC handles would look 'nice' on a gentlemanly folder with such elegant form as the Lum Chinese...... that said, if it does come out I would NEED to get one :D

Having spoken with a fair few southpaws about the Lum Chinese they have said that if there was a failing on that knife it'd be that particular feature. Though curiously I can use my left hand on linerlocks very easily and find more difficulty with using my left with compression locks. Frontlocks/ backlocks.... no problemo :D ;)

As for the colour of Lums, the green is a very 'chinese' colour and goes well with the design. Blue is my fave colour, and Red would be awesome if it should ever make it to production some day ;) ;) :p Red is even more "Chinese" than the Jade Green.
Cheers
