The Embassy is a single action automatic. The Samaritan is a dual action automatic. No, it's not OTF, dual action meaning it can be opened with the button or manually.

Keep in mind as you read through the catalog and/or this list, we've released information primarily for models that are intended to be released within the first 6 months of the year. Everything for the second half of the year will be announced in the mid year supplement (typically the release coincides with Blade Show). Of course things like the Kopas are staggered throughout the entire year, so not all listed are scheduled for the first half.

As for the CPM-S90V Millies, they're not listed, but they are coming soon.

I can't afford this any more. I have been lusting and begging for a white frn knife forever, flat ground g10 delicas, orange uk pen knife, phoenix, and lums eventually... brutal. 5 more knifes at least... brutal. Six I need the Wings Byrd knife too!
-Mat
Oh most of those are in the first 6 months. Thanks for the reminder Kristi.

I'm a little disappointed that there is only one knife with a msrp under 100$.

msrp doesn't equal cost from a good etailer

If I'm understanding this correctly, it's almost as though there's good news and bad news.

Good News: New Hawkbill! :D

Bad News: It's bloody expensive!

Why can't it be a new hawk AND below $150???

Ah, well...the few of us that want it, will probably buy it anyway... :(

Including yours truly.

There must be something wrong with me, because instead of looking at that list and being happy about all of the great knives coming down the pike, I just had to focus on what was not on the list, and that is the Black Lum Chinese Folder. :( Oh well, just another example of how I always tend to see the glass as half full...

OK so in summary for the spring loaded ones we have:

Citadel - action ??? S/A ? D/A ?
Embassy - S/A
Samaritan (not in the list above) - D/A

Taz, Could you clarify specs on those 3 above cos it's a bit confusing for me  unless I have missed something :o . I have been anticipating these for some months now but until now have not heard about the Embassy. Or is the Embassy a renamed Samaritan ?

Cheers
Dan

Does this mean we won't be seeing any Urban variations until mid year at the earliest? Let me down easy, Kristi. :)

All I can say is I'm glad discontinued Models are getting a sprint run so I do not have to hunt them down on the secondary market. I am awaiting patiently for the lum, Lil, temp, FFG Delica & Endura, Rookie (WOW didn't even know about this one), Jot Collaboration (Cmon Krisit & Sal make this happen :D ), Mule Team.

All I can say is because of Sal & Spyderco there is more Kraft dinner in my future a lot more this year to save up for these models :D .

aj

P.S It is surprising to the see the MSRP though almost $400 for the Rock Salt. Hopefully Spyderco retailers still close up the price as much as possible, because I have always loved the affordability of Spydies. I think this may be the first year that imo there are a lot of models that I will not be able to afford. Oh well we shall see what happens.

:spyder: Well, it's my day off and I'm about to go catch my bus downtown to donate plasma, the $25 will go into savings for a superhawk. I'm literally willing to bleed to get this knife. :spyder:

Brian - it's already an expensive year by my standards because I just bought a green Lum and will buy a black Lum when they come out. It seems like I got into :spyder: just in time to see all my expendible $$ go up in smoke. Oh well, you can't take it with you :D

Starling - I want to get a Hawkbill this year. I was secretly wondering if it would be the Superhawk, but now I know it will be the Tasman or Harpy. Pretty nice models to have to "settle" for.

Yes, there's news. Can I share it? Not yet.

As for the C65BKP, it's not on the list because it's already been announced as a previous year's Sprint. If we were to re-list, that would ultimately only add to the confusion.

The Embassy is a separate knife from the Samaritan. It is a single action Automatic. Aluminum/G-10 Scales.

The Citadel is also a single action Automatic.

But then I'm easily confused.
