Wow!. The Manix in both sizes are, IMO, one of the best production knives ever made by any company. I see a market continuing for them like has happened with the Lil Temps. They are well known and respected even amongst the non spyderco people.I'd keep the tooling and run a batch every few years if it was me. Joe

It's been supplanted by the Urban - basically the same knife but with interchangable colored scales.LowTEC wrote:  I thought UKPK has its own dedicated market, no?

Native SS is going ??? surprised(
Maybe I smell a Native IV ...ie NIII in SS :p )
Surprised on the Manix small and large. Not too surprised with the UKPK considering the Urban's impending birth. Not surprised on the Kris.
OK guys, I suppose we'd all just better get out to our local sharp store and grab one of each on the list then :D
Looking forward to a great 2008 for Spyderco and for us all.
Cheers

Yeah, I can't think of another production folder that is everything the Manix has -- sub $150 price tag, flat ground S30V, built tough to take a beating, and a very ergonomic handle. The Mastiff wrote:Wow!. Just placed an order with NGK for a PE Manix.

****.
Sorry, but, ****. You guys are getting rid of the Manix line?????
I just got a Mini Manix, which for me, is pretty darn close to perfect.
You guys HAVE to be putting in a new hard use folder, then. With out the Manix family and the D'allura, theres not much thats "up there" strength wise.
Trust in Sal, I suppose, he knows what he's doing better then I do.

Well, crap. Guess I'll be picking up another manix plus a few mini-manix. I have yet to handle the 83mm one.
Oh, and better add a Dallara Drop Point to the list.
Time to put in for overtime staffing at the firehouse!

I'm not surprised about most of those but the Mini Manix caught me by surprise some. I figured that one would be around for several years after the Manix was discontinued. Didn't see them both being discontinued together at all.

Well, of those being discontinued, I only have the C74GPS Ocelot, C94GP UK Pen Knife Black G-10 and the C95GPS Manix.
The ones I want to get are the C115CFP T-Mag and the C82PSBK2 D'Allara Drop Point.
Of them all, I would like to see the big Manix continued.

 Hmmm... A Manix may have just bumped the Caly 3 from my Christmas list.
Somewhat surprised by this as are many others it appears. Any successor to the Manix line looks to have big shoes to fill.

I love my Kris, but it does not surprise me that it will be dropped.
The T-Mag does not surprise me. I like the design, but it's a bit high in price for a magnetic slipjoint that will screw up my ATM card.
The Manix & Mini Manix does surprise me though.
