For me there is no single Spyderco that can be classified as the 'perfect' EDC knife. It depends on where I'm going, what I'm doing and what knife I feel like taking :D

Having said all that I suppose my short list would include:

Li'l Temp
Para Millie
Delica 4
Native

Though I might choose anything out of my collection just cause I feel like using it for a while.

If I was going to EDC a fixed blade it would be the FB Temperance. And it wouldn't matter which blade variation either ;)

If they would ever bring back the fixed blade LUM in a different blade steel I would also give it a try.

Great pick Scott

The Temp is the ONLY fixed blade I use. I've got others, but they just don't do the job as well as the Temp. Temp might be a relatively ugly knife, but it's ergos are second to none, and it outcuts everything else I own.

It's not ugly in the eye of this beholder>> Actually I've viewed the fixed blade Temperance as being ahead of it's time for quite a while now.

Ergonomics and cool designs aren't necessarily synonymous. It takes a while for even hard core knife lovers to understand a progress in functional operation. The fixed Blade Temperance is just a bit ahead of it's time. It's starting to be appreciated

I agree with Ex! The Yo indeed......I am still in awe of this little bulldog of a folder. It wants to fight everything else that wants to ride the upfront pocket! :D

Currently the D4 in ZDP blue is my Nr.1, it has everything, ideal size, ideal weight, sheeple friendly color, manages most chores and there is still something left in the MBC area ;) And I absolutely LOVE the ZDP189

if it was my choice, I'd be using a millie to do everything, if not my enduras. But hoplophobe behavior leads to smaller toys... I use my lil temp all week

choices for 'ideal' edc:
millie
frn endura
ss police
leaf blade lil temp (now if only we could get a left handed one)
spur
pro-ven
ss 'fly
Coffee before Conciousness
Why do people worry more if you argue with your voices than if you just talk with them? What about if you lose those arguements?
Slowly going crazy at work... they found a way to make the voices work too.

Hi There,

My choices would be:

1: the Stretch (II),
2: the UKPK,
3: the Paramilitary.

although the Delica and the Endura are cheaper for EDC.

kind regards,

Werner

By far my favorite EDC folder is the Lil'Temp.... It does everything I need from a folder. The full size Temp is a great EDC as well and I agree with many on the comments above regarding it.

It's better to have knife and not need it than to need a knife and not have it.

Well, after really trying to let the knife grow on me(E4/SE) and after refinding my EnduraIII/SE again, I must say it's the Endura 3/SE.

The Milie/SE very close second though ;)

A Caly3 in either G-10 or CF, PE version. It's an uptown city knife. Lovely ergos, efficiently built, slim, discreet, all-around useful blade size. Disappears into the waistband and is forgotten until needed. (Downtown city and rural both deserve bigger knifes.)
