Once I moved into the city during the summer I've saved two cats off the street already. I always thought myself more of a dog person, but I saw these cats on the street and I felt bad for them, now they have a good home. You should keep 'em Chad!

Dear Chad,
Thanks for the story and the pics. The little one is really cute. As someone who has two cats, I can say they are some fascinating animals. Unlike the dogs, which are simple and sincere - though I guess Jurphaas can tell us more about how "sincere" they are when they steal the sausages from the storeroom and chew your shoes

- cats are sophisticated. I think Andre Malraux said that one can't consider himself an educated person untill he understands a the soul of a cat.
What is great about cats is they are very clean animals (it will take just a couple days to teach the little one to go to his sandbox), very devoted to the house (while dogs are devoted to the master) and very playfull.
You may keep the cat or not, it's not my business to judge, besides I can fully understand why someone can't have a pet, been there too, but if you decide to keep it, I'm sure you won't regret. Unlikely as it seems, you may even learn a thing or two from their fight style

Sounds to me, that the good Daywalker wants us to "talk" him into keeping the little guy. It is as if his logic says to not keep it perhaps due to finances or too many pets but his heart says to keep it. Otherwise why else would he tell this story only to finish it by, "it fell asleep in my jacket...then I dropped it off at the Cat Pound". Listen to your heart D.Walk.
:p
p.s. For the record, I'm one of the few who said to get rid of it...as I can't see the kitty, only my cold logic is at work...just to further my own hypocrisies...

Aloha ALL!!!
Wow, what great replies!!!
The Deacon hit it right on the nose...we already have three cats, and well...four would be pushing it a bit. One of the three is very maternal, but she still is not sure of lil' Anakin. The other male kinda just snoops around a bit, checking out the kitten. Third one, maternal instincts out the door! She cannot stand Anakin and has not yet left my daughter's window. (Oddly, this very upset cat in my daughter's window I found and healed also, except she had a broken leg).
Anyway, my good friend will take Anakin for his daughter...however his wife is *terrified* of cats... My wife and daughter still think I am trying to decide whether or not to keep Anakin. I'd like to very much as I think we somehow "bonded" during his rescue. :D
The other cats will have to adjust to his presence...but I think we'll all be alright...here's a pic of "Ani" next to my C83 for a size comp. :D
Mahalo for all the replies and a great pic bobbcat!
Take care all of you and God bless

Great news, Chad
I had my stock answers ready if you had said you wouldn't keep him:
"I can't have pets here"- Move
"I'm allergic to cats"-Get the shots for allergies
"I can't afford a pet"-Eat noodles and beans
"There are too many things for the cat to get into"-Move and give the cat its own room
There are more, but you get the idea :D I'm a cat (and animals in general) guy

Yes, I am an animal lover also. My daughter keeps asking, "So dad...have you decided yet?" As I type this Anakin has been at my feet since I got on the computer...Like I mentioned, I think...no, I know we somehow bonded during his traumatic rescue. Poor guy...
Kinda going along the lines of what zackerty said, i think Anakin "found us". Like a C54 PE, C12 PE, R PE...this guy is a keeper!!! I just cannot resist my Soft Side. :o
Take care and God bless

Aloha Piet.S and idj!
Thanks guys. :o Yeah, here I am..."supposed bad @$$ Corrections Officer, earned my forum name within the walls flinging 240# guys to the floor, when some freak is going off they send me in"...defeated by the love of a small kitten. :p As it is said, "Love conquers ALL."
He is adapting well to his training. The older, wiser three kittys need to take a chill pill! My goodness...such attitude, I need not! :D
God bless and have a great weekend guys. **** is calling, time to suit up.
