End of a great era for American cycling. I sure will miss Lance Armstrong. The tour will be interesting next year though.
I must say also the Scandinavians did remarkably well coming away with KOM and points!
Java, I am certain you were thrilled to see John Kerry riding with the race director Saturday. They sure do love him in France. :D

Yeah, well they can have him in France.
You sir have defiled a great thread printing his name in association with Lance..... All Lance and us Peloton Members are doing is trying to milk some of that Heinz Ketchup money from Tereza for cancer research. "Keep John away and occupied" she says, "and I'll give you any amount you want!!!" :D
I don't see this as an end to American cycling with 3 Americans in the top 10. Team discovery is still American even though it has an international make up to it. Yaroslav Popovych brought home the White Jersey (Best Young Cyclist) for the team and there's a possibility that Vinokourouv may be riding for them next year. I expect Basso to crank out his first Tour win next year but he'll have plenty of fierce competition. Rassmussen's finish after his disasterous time trial tells me Denmark will be right there next year as well. (Providing Vox doesn't get Rass adicted to Sprite and single-malt)
Meanwhile, I'd better hit the hills hard before Lance and I go at it in October.

I Expect Basso To Do It Next Year, But It Is Racing And You Never Know. All I Can Say Is Lance Is A True Champion!

You are right Java, more beginning of an era rather than an end. I think it will be an end to the sheer domination we've seen in these last 7 tours though.
I'd love to see Jan win another though I know it is unlikely at this stage in his career. I think he is a great sportsman and would have won several tours had LA not come back from cancer with such a vengeance.
Basso could do it.
Vino is friggin scary. With Bruyneel calming him and focusing him I'd bet he could win too.
I don't think Rass needs any caffeine, sugar or alcohol. :D
