Found a knife-sized knife

I saw this knife over at
http://www.oriental-arms.co.il and can definitely picture a :spyder: version:
Obviously, the :spyder: folder would be shorter and likely slightly less pointy. If I'm lucky, it'll have an ambidextrous tip-up deep-carry pocket clip, but still have a "T" cross-section (so as to aid in sharpening like a straight-razor).
Since most of us associated one of the names of this Indo-Persian knife with Mr. Bud Nealy ("Pesh-kabz"), Spyderco could always use its Afghani name of "choora".

A Folding Spyderco Argentine Gaucho Knife would be an interesting challenge for the designers...Doc

From what I've heard, the Kris and the folding Kukri are already "in the works". :D

Woh, Deacon, you have good ears. Do you mean the kris will be a fixed blade or do I read you wrong?

Surprising, that a lot of knives are made in Seki, so japanese "Seki blood" is in a lot of :spyder: ´s and no typical japanese blades, like an modern tantos, really massive fix blade, wrapped handle + something modern in that or etc.
I think there is a lot of options

perhaps a traditional folding stiletto updated with modern materials and design, and the typical spydertouch. (hole)
Peter
or better yet....

the corsican "vendetta" design, the blade shape and handle design of which both may lend an easier time to one hand opening with the spyderhole.

No Piet, the kris, like the kukri will be a folder.

I like the folding Kukri idea.
A laminated VG-10 Puuko would rock too. It would have to have a nice wood handle though...no FRN/G-10 etc. Maybe Micarta???

Piet.S wrote:Good idea Ted, there is a lot to say for Puuko's. No bullshit hard use knifes, just like Spydies. May I suggest a laminated steel and a Puuko grind, both sides single bevel only that is. Curly birch would be over the top, wouldn't you say?
No Birch, PLEASE!!

No sir. The Shabaria, when not in Spyderco folder form, is a double-edged knife of western Asia (Israel and Jordan). The Pesh Kabz (or Choora) is a single-edged blade from central Asia (Aghanistan, India, Iran, Pakistan, Uzbekistan....) with a reinforced spine. The Pesh Kabz was originally a weapon designed for ignoring chain mail, but I bet that :spyder: could design a civilian tool for cutting boxes, tape, rope, leather, food, and other non-armor items like they did with their Lum tanto folder.

Thanks, Keno!
I'm hoping that it's handle will resemble that of the Chinook II, but maybe with ivory micarta or white G-10 and a nested Compression Lock. As always, with the Meerkat's deep-carry, ambidextrous pocket clip, but with four-position mounting.

Maybe a straightrazor?

I may be missing something, but I'm not sure if a straight razor counts as an ethnic design.
