:spyder: Please, please, please, the groove you are describing is called a fuller, "blood grooves" are only found on mall ninja knives like darkops knives. :spyder:

1. A reinforced, stab/pry-worthy tip. Something you could dig a nail out of a 2x4 with.

2. A thick spine with possibly a swedge near the tip to help aforementioned strength.

3. Possibly some swedges in the blade to keep it light withough sacrificing strength. Like some blood grooves that could run from under the Spydie-hole.

4. Something other than a lockback or liner lock. Maybe some kind of ball-lock or even a frame-lock titanium handle.

5. A wave would be a dream come true but I could settle for an enlaged hole or even possibly *drool* - a flipper.

6. If titanium handles/framelock construction isn't utilized, I love carbon fiber handles - the shiny kind. Silver G-10 would be even cooler.

7. Blade steel - go ZDP-189 but offer an H1 model as well.

Make it about Matriarch sized and there you go - my dream Spyderco knife. Sal, if you made any variant of this knife, you would sell as many as you could make. I would be willing to pay the premium. Oh yeah, I want a plain edge variant available for sale.

I think you may have this forum confused with that of Dork ops oops I'm sorry Dark-ops. They offer a boat load of designs with blood grooves and their knives will deanimate a lot of zombies as well. :D

Wondering if the Tenacious' place of manufacture was JD's last straw.

Anyways, so jonesing for the Superhawk. Have one on pre-order and now getting ready to get a P'Kal from any trusted Spyderco dealer in a state beginning with the letter V just because it includes a tiny hawkish curve in its blade amongst other features (and for the record, the S30V is what kept me from buying it sooner). Heavens to betsy, I'm even willing to vote for a presidential candidate I otherwise despise because his politics have been described as "hawkish." Okay, j/k on the last part.

I've kinda been wondering the same thing...I emailed him several days ago and haven't gotten a response...this is HIGHLY unusual for Mr. Spydohawk. :D

I am also worried about our good friend JD.

His spyderco account shows activity 1-17-08, and his bladeforum shows activity 12-06-07.....

He might just be taking a break from the forums, I highly doubt JD would turn his back on us AND spyderco because of the place a knife is made. I will shoot him a PM over at bladeforums.....but he as not logged in about 3 months, so I'm not sure if it will do any good.

I hope JD is doing well! JD you better not be lurken here, and leaving us hang'in..........(green smilie here, because my phone will not post em')

I'm reminded of John Stewart's jokes comparing Lent to Passover....

Just got a P'kal; which is hawkbillish or an overtired wharnie; and that's easing the 'sting' a little, but since it doesn't detract from the Superhawk's proposed pocketspace, the 'sting' is still there. I'll use the Superhawk to deal with snake bites. And I'll always carry a snake with me... W.C. Fields

Me too. I had only two "must-haves" on my list for this year and I already got my FG G-10 E4. Of course I also picked up a few other Spydies this year, but right now, I will be a happy man and my lust will be satisfied once I get the Superhawk. Other than this one knife, there is nothing else that even mildly interests me at the moment...SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! SUPERHAWK! :D
