I about stepped on this little guy

Ring-necked snake
Looks dangerous but harmless.
Never have seen one of those.

Here’s a couple more pics after I relocated him to a safer spot

Now iNaturalist is telling me it is a Red-bellied Snake.
Also harmless.

Brief rest before more mayhem! I honestly have no idea how many we have , filling feeders daily in some of their favorites. Going through a lot of sugar with seventeen feeders . Dan

This photo was taken before the drenching thunder storms last night. With the water now running high and fast I wonder where the crayfish are now. (Other than in Nebraska.)

I’d take a shot at this one!

He’s definitely #1 on the Hitlist because I’m a sucker for mass and tine length and he’s got both, plus I’m willing to bet he’s 5.5 or older-definitely mature…if he had longer G-4’s he’d be pushing 160 P&Y…just hope he shows in daylight when the wind is right

Not a finch; some kind of warbler. Think maybe a female/immature Magnolia Warbler.
