Spyderco Factory Outlet Seconds Sale!
Re: Spyderco Factory Outlet Seconds Sale!
Is it reasonable to expect some para3 models being part of this year's sale?

Re: Spyderco Factory Outlet Seconds Sale!
Yep. They tend to have more Golden knives than any others. That means lots of Manixes, Para 2s, Militaries, and, presumably, Para 3s. I'd guess that is because all the other factories, as contractors, weed out the ones that wouldn't pass QC and discard them, rather than send them to Spyderco. The Golden factory, however, is directly owned by Spyderco so they are able to directly turn them over to the seconds supply.bacmapei wrote:Is it reasonable to expect some para3 models being part of this year's sale?

Re: Spyderco Factory Outlet Seconds Sale!
I think this is ridiculous, I know I dropped $1000 last year and many people left spending more than me. With the number of people I wouldn't be surprised if Spyderco was taking in $100,000 or more in one day. (For things they can't even sell otherwise) They already raised their prices on seconds as of about 5 years ago now, according to forum member MountainManJim whom I met in line at my first sale.Nate wrote:Am I the only who feels like Spyderco needs to raise prices on the seconds? Seems like they're leaving a lot of money on the table... Plus if the deals weren't so insane I wouldn't feel so bummed about missing out ever year. :D
(Just kidding, mostly :p )
The best money deals come from the returns, but the seconds are not always that insane of a deal. I'm sure it has to do with covering shipping to get them and so on but the golden models probably are the best deals. Last year they had seconds of the Vrango for $175 dollars, only about $40 cheaper than map price. Their second Nirvanas with the exception of returns were $275 dollars. I know someone going hoping for a Nirvana would probably still like the deal but it's a lot of dough.
Either way, I'll be there.
If anyone hasn't been hooked up yet with a sale proxy, let me know I'm sure I can help someone out with picking up a knife or 2.
EDIT #2: I've already got a few people that hit me up to help them buy some things!
Edit: I just saw the fine print on this quoted post about just kidding! Anyhow I can't wait until late November!

Yeah, totally intended as tongue-in-cheek. :)Drahkis wrote: Edit: I just saw the fine print on this quoted post about just kidding! Anyhow I can't wait until late November!
I thought about asking for a proxy, but it's hard to even know what to ask for without any idea about what they'll have. Anything I really want I'd still buy a regular production version of, if I haven't already.
For sure would like to make it out there in person at least once sometime for the experience.

Re: Spyderco Factory Outlet Seconds Sale!
No chance of me being able to be there in person. Anyone willing to get a Para 3 in something exotic for me? :)
The first time I saw a Spyderco was the early 90s at a knife shop in a mall. I can still see the SpydieHoles through that glass display cabinet. My parents wouldn't buy any of them for me... so now I buy them all. :spyder:

Sadly, I won't be able to attend, yet again. Can I just send someone $150 or so and tell you to surprise me? :D

The Santoku is one of the few kitchen knives in MBS-26 that feels beefy and solid. You should definitely get it. I’ve got the entire Spydie kitchen set and that one is definitely in my top 5.StuntZombie wrote:I have a good one every now and then!xceptnl wrote:I like this idea ChrisStuntZombie wrote:Sadly, I won't be able to attend, yet again. Anyone gracious enough to help me out on picking up a specific knife, I would be forever in your debt.
Re: Spyderco Factory Outlet Seconds Sale!
What is the link to the seconds sale, please? Is it only on fb?
