If it arrives in good condition and doesn't fall apart in the first week (before any mods) then the chances are good that it isn't going to need the warrantee. Besides, in my case, the shipping cost to the US and back is really prohibitive - only slightly cheaper than a new knife.
Trust Spyderco's QC
My point was, I don't think they would sell something that encourages you to take the knife apart. I agree, if it doesn't have problems when you get it, you probably won't have any significant ones. For some people putting a knife back together is beyond their ability for whatever reasons.

A good portion of society drives cars without warranties. Even as mechanically incompetant owners they tend to last a VERY long time due to advances.
Different but not unrelated quality knives should be relatively maintenance-free for at least a decade if not three times that. There is a far better chance the average person will reassemble the knife incorrectly making the action all wonky than make it smoother. Half of those will have it in a baggie for a couple weeks. :)
My opinion is that I can get oil anywhere I can get water and dirt. It might take a bit more work but what else do you do while watching TV?

Here are some pictures I took of my Stag Arms Manix for color reference.

Me too. If you have such a tough steel why not use it on a knife that will show its awe to the fullest advantage. To use it on a small knife seems to be a little bit of a waste.

It's not a tough steel. It is a great edge holding steel. But it isn't great at impacts...so a small knife makes more sense...at least IMO.

Just do not wait too long. I believe only 400 made and when they will be sold out price on secondary market will go up.

My vote for "anything else" ASSUMES dark or muted colors that don't look like a neon sign. Shades of green (foliage) might be nice. I've got enough gray right now with my Manix2 and PM2, so NOT gray, please.
And, for that steel, any color will do nicely, thank you, Sal.

My personal preference would be gray carbon fiber or some other color or weave variations of carbon fiber. But, if the only color offered for the S110V Native 5 is electric hot pink ...I'd still buy it, carry it proudly and deal with the resulting battles it may provoke.

Anything but Brown. Given the steel, perhaps a unique color not yet offered to us :)

Was this knife ever shown in a catalog at all? The only reference that i find to it is a list that was sent to dealers, but i don't see anything that went out to hint the public.
Thanks,
JD
