For AR optics you've got sound advice above. I'll also comment and say try them out if possible.

I love my 2 aimponts, but I have about a dozen primary arms red dots in various flavors too. They take a beating and just keep on running for a fifth of the cost of an aimpoint. The md25 series are my favorite and for a passive NV optic they can't be beat in the price range.

My go to optics though are acogs usually a ta31 with a rmr on top in a QD mount. You really get the best of both worlds in a light bomb proof package. I also have vortex 5x prisms with a primary arms rs10 red dot on top. Not every gun needs an acog and the vortex is a third of the cost and does an excellent job.

I don't own any firearms, and don't necessarily plan to. If I ever do, maybe someday I'll get a Glock 40, which I've used at a gun range.

Anyway, I saw this video and wondered what people think of it. Not sure how comfortable it would be.

There is one for sale on Gunbroker.com for $1,900.
Absolutely no way would I consider one of these.
Even if it was $190.

That's a beauty. Looks stout enough for .44 mag but I see it's a .44 special. I understand a lot of handloaders hot-rod their .44 specials well into magnum ranges. With that grip and heavy frame, it must be a dream to shoot.

Elmer Keith had a lot to do with the development of the 44 Magnum , handloading the Special . A really fun read is his autobiography “ H*** I Was There “ . Quite a character . Dan

I agree. That [Elmer Kieth] books is a great one.
Not super common last time I looked, but is still out there.

My last firearm was (is) a synthetic CZ457 in 17HMR, put CZ rings on it & a Vortex something or other in those rings/atop said rifle.
I can easily keep all my shots in just 1/3 of a penny (a penny is 0.75 inch diameter)at a lazered 50 yards from prone. Man I love me some CZ.
