The Battle that stopped Rome- Peter S. Wells (Teutoburg Forest battle with the Germanic tribes under Arminius)

Yoga mat companion #2

Sixguns by Keith- Elmer Keith (re-read at LEAST a dozen times since the 70's)

The Book of Balance and Harmony- Thomas Cleary (Taoism Anthology)

The Book of the Five Rings- Musashi (re-read at least 10 times over the years)

Nikola Tesla, Imagination and the Man who Invented the 20th century- Sean Patrick

Franklin Barbecue...A Meat Smoking Manifesto- Aaron Franklin

There are a few more but these are the primary ones right now, some are actual books and some are on my android tablet using Calibre reader. I am frequently either in the hospital or in transit to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota so I get a lot of reading done over a huge range of subjects.

Currently reading Tribes, We Need You to Lead Us, by Seth Godin. It's an interesting book on leadership but I'm not a fan of it's lay out, kind of choppy.

I agree with your assessment on this. He makes some very good points though.

"Catching Shrimp With Bare Hands" the story of Bluntcut's early life, before he came to the states. Interesting read, amazing life as a kid. It's worth reading, if only to see how fortunate we are to live here in the U.S.

Just finished The Three-Body Problem today and enjoyed it. I have the second book, but since the concluding book won't be out until next April, I'll give myself four months before starting book two so that I space them out evenly.

Instead, I'm starting Matt Kindt's MIND MGMT Volume 1: The Manager, a graphic novel about a top secret government mind control program. I have huge piles of books to read, so it's always a challenge to decide what to start next.

A Game Of Battleships (Space Captain Smith 4)- Toby Frost

The Ipcress File- Len Deighton (Must've read this every 18 months for the last 10 years- A superb spy story that oozes 1950s grime and larded with sarcasm. The antithesis of James Bond)

AS9100 Revision D- Currently in ballot with the IAQG, I'm working out what the changes to Aircraft Group might be...

The Book on the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are - Alan Watts

The Second Foundation (the third book in the Foundation Trilogy) by Isaac Asimov

I love this series and am glad I was convinced to give it a shot.

Next up is likely going to be Desert Solitaire by Edward Abbey, but Neuromancer by William Gibson sounds good, too.

Just finished Funeral In Berlin by Len Deighton.
Now re-reading The Player Of Games by Iain M. Banks.

I recently got a taste for re-reading some of my old favorites. I'm currently reading through all of Michael Crichton's works in order. Just finished Congo.

Almost done with 'Operatives, Spies, and Saboteurs: The Unknown Story of the Men and Women of World War II's OSS' by Patrick K. O'Donnell. It's a good read that mixes more traditional historical texts with personal accounts of the people involved. I like it.

Finished up "The Picture of Dorian Grey" last week.

It's one of the incredibly few classics that deserves that status, and is thus worth reading. This is despite that much of the book continues on from the first page with no plot. (Yes, you read that correctly.) The characters themselves are so incredibly genuinely fascinating, that the lack of a plot over much of the length of the book, is really a very minor issue indeed.

I also recommend "Frankenstein" as another true classic worth reading.

And yes, Hollywood has butchered, placed into a shallow grave, and urinated on the fictional creations of both Oscar Wilde and Mary Shelley.

I finished the Foundation Trilogy the other day and have started 'Go Set a Watchman' by Harper Lee.
