People are funny. We pay extra for a pair of jeans with a "worn" look instead of continuing to wear our old jeans. :)

I'm assuming he made canvas micarta scales and distressed them.

I'm with you, Jack. I see people beating on perfectly good furniture with chains to get that "distressed" look. I just gotta laugh. And don't get me started on holey ripped jeans - I've got teenagers in my house... :cool:

But getting this look with canvas micarta scales is actually pretty easy. If you polish the scales out to get them smooth (up to 600 grit or so), then finish them with a light sanding of 100 grit - it raises the nap of the canvas fabric and gives it that really comfortable "lived in" texture. Great stuff, and you can't get that feel with fiberglass stuff like G10...

there's also the idea to make similar scales for the e4!

Yep that's my old baby. It's kinda bitter sweet but I'm glad it finally got done right. How thin did you have to make the spine?

Probablt 1/2 a mm thinner overall. If you have a Native V, have a look at the spine and it dips in at the plunge about the same amount. Also I hated the plunge line on the stock Yo2, it seemed backwards, So I started the plunge line a few mm back

Yeah the way the spine dips down lower and then rises back up will make the thumb dip thinner than that hump just before it drops down to the tip, not really anything you can do about that except distal tapering it.
