Was waiting on this one - like to support an in-state business and like the extra shop towel they wrap orders in 😅

My Manix 2 15V arrived today. This is the 4th Manix that I bought and I’m very happy the way it looks and open/close.

Here are some photos side by side with Manix 2 Maxamet that I carried in the last 6 months.
The blade developed some discoloration but I don’t care since it looks awesome. This blade cut without mercy a lot of beef stakes, fruits, veggies, etc.

I’m very excited now to edc the Manix 2 15V. In the past I edc for one year my Paramilitary 2 in 15V. Great blades, great steel I couldn’t be more pleased.

Very nice! I just got a 15V today.

I also compared it with my Manix 2 in Maxamet and REX45. The fasteners on the newer Manix 2's look nicer. The BBB logo is nicer than on my Manix 2 HeavyWeight. Interestingly, Eric's logo is a little lighter on this model.

I think this knife is top-notch in all respects. There's one more being delivered on Monday. I'll compare the two, and then carry whichever is the nicer.

I'm slower than you elite dudes. Just ordered a 15V Manix from NK this evening, free ship, no tax. Anything "no tax" is amazing in the broke state of California. Looking forward to adding 15V back into the lineup.

For the 15V Lightweight, I have only seen date codes of DY and FY. Has anyone here seen any other dates yet? :thinking
I have code AY.

Wow, thank you weeping minora

That's likely a first batch knife then. Nice! :bug-red-white

When you get a chance weeping minora - Peek in through the ball-cage lock opening, and let us know what you see there for a blade batch date and code please. Your 'A' month assembled knife, likely had its blade heat treated last year.

So as of now then, we have seen a January, April, and June 2025 production month date codes.

Eric did say publicly, 5 months ago, that Spyderco was in the process of producing 5000 pieces of each USA made 15V model.
If the heat treat batches are 500 blades each, that would be 10 'baskets' of blades for each model run. So I can see how we may get/find even more date codes as time goes by. That's a lot of knives! :grin-big eyes

I have one inbound now, that is from the latest shipment from Spyderco to Dealers. It'll be interesting to see what date code I get. :smlling-eyes
For what it’s worth mine is 1 25 A

My blade code is 1-25 B

Thank you WilliamMunny, Red Leader, and RustyIron for those added data points! :bug-red-white

I noticed today, that Spyderco has not mentioned/written what the blade finish is on this 15V LW Manix 2.
https://spyderco.com/products/manix%C2% ... -run%C2%AE

So I then went back to look to see what they listed the G-10 15V Manix 2 model blade finish as being, and that listing has not been rebuilt yet, since the website was reworked recently.
https://spyderco.com/catalog/details/C1 ... -reg-/2344

Knives Plus calls it Tumbled finish.

Blade HQ calls it Satin finish.

REC calls it a Stonewash finish.

DLT calls it a Satin finish. They also get the scale material listed wrong, and have it listed as being FRN.

National Knives does not list the blade finish at all, but does get the FRCP handle material correct. :smlling-eyes

More data points:

FY on the box, 1-25 C on the blade
AY on the box, 1-25 A on the blade

Both knives look pretty close to identical, but the 1-25 A blade has less pronounced engraving. See the attached image. The C knife is on the top. That's the one that's going into my pocket.

Another 1-25 C with an FY box here. BBB engraving is much more crisp than on the G10 version I had. Sold that one but here's a comparison to the Mule
PXL_20250713_181438776~3.jpg

As an aside, the factory edge on this is the best I have ever had from Spyderco. EXACTLY 16dps as measured with a goniometer, mostly uniform bevel width and extremely fine tip. Hair whittling right out of the box.

I lucked out and was able to snag the G10 version on the secondary market (only had to pay double retail, lol). I was never the biggest fan of the hump in the handle of the stock scales, so I made some changes. Titanium scales with a steel liner delete (makes the titanium version lighter than the G10/steel liner version), titanium ball cage, lighter spring, ceramic ball, titanium clip, titanium hardware and lanyard tube. Along with the CPM-15V steel, it's quickly becoming a favorite knife.

How could it not? Just look at that thing. Gorgeous knife. Very nice job on that one!

What were those scales again? I've seen those around. Ripps?

I got my order confirmation for a 15V Manix 2 LW! Pretty excited about this one and also the upcoming G10 Native.

I also finally ordered a CBN bench stone which has been on my "to buy" list for a while now.

Cheers!

Thanks! The scales and clip came from Rockscale Design. I’m a big fan of RGT too though. :)
