It was in the prototype display at blade show. That is all I remember though.
I saw it there as well. It was a linerlock. I didn't ask to handle it.
It did seem like it was a very rough prototype (in the early stages). Do I recall that correctly?

I can't comment on the roughness or not since I didn't touch it. I think it had a micarta handle which could contribute to the impression of a "rough" appearance. It could have been very refined as far as I know. :cheap-sunglasses

So it’s a linerlock ? MG2

I find it hilarious that such a highly anticipated knife made an appearance at Blade and no one paid any attention.

I was paying attention to Sal. He was telling some great stories. I felt it was more important to give him my attention.

I like the mystery.
Though, I think I know what to expect. BBB has an interesting mind for design that’s subtly quite excellent, imo.
I expect that the folder will be a refined cutting tool in all aspects to bring out the most of the blade steel.

Yeah but there were thousands of people there, surely someone got a good look at it right? Was it that unassuming?

It was tucked in the top back and said Shawn Houston. Many may not recognize that name. Even members on here may not recognize him. They are missing out. Lots of great information from that dude.

Sal spends a lot of time around the display table at the show. If you ever get the chance, take the time to get over there and meet him and hear what he has to say. I promise it is well worth it and much more memorable than any knife I saw.

This is a rare instance that I wish that I had a chance to pre-order a knife just to lock one in, sight unseen and details unknown. I have a strong feeling this is going to be an amazing knife.

I was aware of what it was, however unfortunately for me: liner lock = almost zero interest

Liner locks are usually pretty difficult to close left handed, usually even more than a frame lock.
I want to be able to close my knife with either hand relatively easily.

That’s too bad , another high end of no buy for me . Thank you! MG2

I'd buy this if it's a liner lock, slip joint, or heck a friction folder even :smirk

Wild horses couldn't drag me away.

A liner lock won't keep me away from some 15V!

The liner lock doesn’t kill my interest, only tempers it. I suspect this will be one of the highest performing knives Spyderco has ever collaborated on.
